On this 3 hour Walk we will discover some of the Modern Street Art, by International Street Artists, Belfast is now becoming known for. As we go into the West of the city to view some of the more controversial Political Murals. And hear how Northern Ireland is working with locals to create Peace. We will also see a project called re-imaging, which aims to put Street Art or Murals up that the local communities want to share with all that pass by.

Marti explained to us the complex history of Belfast, so we could understand the present. We saw great streetart , not only the political ones. We visited both sides and Marti was neutral in his comment.

I was privileged to take university students to Northern Ireland and Ireland for a study tour. Marty and his tour were, without a doubt, the highlight of our entire time in Belfast. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the Troubles, the existing challenges that Belfast faces, and its future aspirations for peace. His tour was pivotal to our comprehensive understanding of the impacts of Irish history on the communities of Belfast. I couldn't recommend this journey with Marty enough. Please support this brilliant soul and make his dream of going to Costa Rica come true!!!!

Marti was really knowledgeable and provided with interesting information. Not only he told us about the beginning of the troubles but also, about the healing process and life in Belfast nowadays. He also gave us good advice for our stay in Belfast.

Marti is an incredibly personable, charming, and knowledgeable tour guide. The political street murals and peace walls tour we took was such a unique “boots on the ground” experience, as Marti guided my group through the city center and the streets of West Belfast. I really appreciated how Marti took a sensitive, nuanced approach to the fascinating history of the city and his peace-oriented ideology. I also really enjoyed the insight he provided on how the city and its locals are faring in today’s word, decades after the troubles.
This was an AWESOME tour, especially so if you’re already interested the troubles and the island’s political history. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Only thing that could have made this better is if I could have shared a pint with him afterwards and continued to pick his brain :)

I had a wonderful evening with Marti, doing his tour of Belfast street art and live music. He is very familiar with all of the artists and art, as it comes and goes. He went to a number of pubs during the tour, joining a ukulele jam session and trads in a number of spots. Super time with a great guide!

Our guide Marty was superb. Extremely knowledgeable and was happy to answer every question thrown his way. A lot of information to take in but it gave us a better understanding of the conflict and reasons behind it.

What a great guide Marti was - it's a totally different experience seeing the area on foot over a few hours with a lifelong local. We were not rushed and could really take things in with a small group. Marti is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Belfast, and I appreciated that his tour did not traffic in the easy spectacle of violence; instead, he took a more nuanced approach that spoke to the desires of the majority in this wonderful city to hold onto peace for all it's worth.
