1. Xel-Ha Park by Xcaret
Xel-Ha is considered the world’s largest natural aquarium, the park offers snorkeling among hundreds of tropical fish and more than 90 marine species that inhabit the creek. Enjoy the best marine and land activities; in Xel-Ha’s park you can enjoy lagoons, cenotes and caves, where seawater mixes with the fresh water of the world’s longest underground river system. Complimentary lifejackets, inner tubes, bicycles, access to lounge chairs, hammocks and rest areas are included. Slide down ziplines and splash into the crystal clear waters of a cenote or dive into a spectacular cove. Visit Xel-Ha’s vegetation nursery, and marvel at the mangroves and rainforest dotted with orchids. See the apiary of the Melipona bee (with a traditional Mayan harvest of honey twice a year) and learn more about the Mayan culture. Yes, it was amazing, but the mosquitoes were HORRIBLE. It was so expensive. After paying an arm and a leg for tickets, we paid to swim with the dolphins. Even though we bought the photopass, the dolphin pictures were not included. We had to pay $300 for photos of the dolphins. We paid $555 for 4 people. When we got there, to do the activities we paid another $800 dollars, and then we had to pay for bug spray and dolphin photos which was over $300.

Get ready to spend a lot of money when you come.

The experience was perfect in every way. We chose Xel Ha over Xacerat as it was all inclusive. We showed up booked a couple of premium experiences and had an amazing day. I HIGHLY recommend the photo pass as there are automated camera stations all ver the park, in the jungle, the water, the caves. Will 100% recommend this and go again!

Launching from Barcelo Maya Plaza, we were comfortably taken to Xel Ha on a bus that was efficient and all park rules and entry instructions were provided in both Spanish and English. The team from the transportation company were polite, friendly and experts. Safety was a prime concern.

Once at the park, we enjoyed a full day until departure at six in the afternoon. There are so many things to do and see in this great park which blended a natural setting with large throngs of people so gracefully that you never felt like there were too many people. Perhaps the only time I felt that was when we went to eat, and even then, the Xel Ha staff was very adept at keeping order and efficiency in a proper place while providing tasty food and plenty of beverage choice. I enjoyed the cajeta on the pancakes at breakfast time.

If you have the photo package, be sure to stop at the many locations that you can take pictures at and seek out the orange vested staff photographers for the more formal, fun and posed photos without feeling rushed. You want to be sure to keep your memories front and center after you leave!

Snorkeling, nature walks, dolphins, manatees, lizards, floating around, stopping to rest in the many locations provided, jumping off cliffs into water below, or riding bikes through the jungle setting is all provided and well done. It's all safe as well.

Saving one of the best (most fun) moments for last, I'll share this. The water slide tower looms over the entire park and is easy to spot and get to. Do this early and you won't need to worry as much about the many people going for the thrill. But, even at the busiest time of the day, the lines are well managed and not as long as you spend when visiting parks in the states.

Enjoy your day, well worth the money, immensely fun. Bring your surf-safe sun screen. You will need it. Xel Ha..............fantastic!

Ziplining over water and dropping into it, tubing down the lazy river surrounded entirely by mangroves, and sliding down the 130 foot lighthouse slide were some of our favorite activities from Xel-Ha! Throw in unlimited food and alcohol plus cenotes and it made for an unforgettable experience

Based on all the 5 star reviews it seems this just wasn't quite our thing. It was fun and the water was nice but the day would've been better spent on the beach for us. I don't drink alcohol much but I would guess someone who does would enjoy this more.

Several of the key attractions are additional cost. Basically the admission cost is to give you food and drinks + a few water activities with the hopes to upsell.

From what I've seen I would say avoid going Friday-Sunday as it's packed. We went on a Monday and the crowds weren't too bad.

I didn't dislike the time there but after eating, water sliding, and tubing down the river we didn't find there to be much of interest.

The food was ok, the drinks were ok, and the park was ok.

I wouldn't go back but it was overall not a bad time if you're with good people.

You're price of admission basically only pays for a big swimming hole. Nearly everything else to do costs money, like a lot of money. If you love wasting money, go here. If not, go jet skiing or seek another excursion which will be much more fun

Absolutely fantastic day. Very chilled day if you want to get away from the rush of a busy waterpark. I would recommend having breakfast beforehand and getting their early. Breakfast at the park was half 9 so whilst everyone was busy with that we got onto the slide instantly and straight on to the river with barely anyone there. We did the zip bike which is fantastic but gets very hot so recommend that in morning then the lazy river after (as they are quite close) to cool down.
Take full advantage of the photos being taken, you don't have to purchase beforehand so you can take the photos through the day and check them at various points before buying.
Honestly 10/10 day and would go back in a heartbeat

Unmissable excursion in Riviera Maya. We had been a few years ago and found it improved, with more attractions, restaurants with better dishes and service.
This time we went with our 6-year-old daughter and she had an unforgettable day
There is not enough day to do everything they offer (at no extra cost)
The slide is a 10 adrenaline rush
Don't forget to visit this park
