Playa Mia were great hosts for this tour.

We were the only English speaking guests out of circa 40 on board and they catered for us and made sure we understood everything perfectly and were comfortable throughout.

The reefs, el cielo and beach club were all great, the reefs and el cielo in particular were stunning, an unbelievable experience.

After the snorkelling we had a boat party with beers, margheritas and rum punch on the way back and never had to ask for another drink.

I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting.

I had a serious medical event on my trip with them yesterday and everyone, from the owners to the captain to the crew were supportive and professional. A note, the event was not in any way their fault or responsibility, it was something that happened out of the blue. In addition to getting me to the hospital, one of their people stayed with me all day, then specially arranged for transportation for me back to my hotel, at their expense. I cannot thank them enough for all they did, they literally may have saved my life. Heartfelt thanks to all members of the Playa Mia family.

The boat ride and crew were fantastic. Problem was the time is very misleading. Pickup 8:15 am for 11 am ferry and noon catamaran departure. 30 minutes of snorkel at ElCielo which is awesome. Back to dock at 4:25 for “lunch” then 7 pm ferry and back to hotel by 9:30 pm

Four hour catamaran ride in a 13 hour day.

Very cool to see Cozumel but not worth the travel beating and 150 pp price.

Enjoyed this tour, beach, food was great and very good! The tour guides from moment of group gathering in playa del carmen then catamaran team and beach tour guides were very professional friendly, helped me while snorkeling in ocean which was amazing as well as Playa mia resort. However, The Driver who picked us up from hotel and brought us back to hotel was Horrible, his driving has very bad, speeding, seemed very ANGRY, bitter, scared all passengers in van, The driver was "Carlos Flores", NOT friendly at all, I dont know why he works for that company. Everyone else was excellent! (Mr.Carlos Flores- gave a ride to his friend with tourist in van and interacted with him very kind, but we can hear his conversation and said "I used to do private tours..and cuss" he not professional at all. Everyone else was phenomenal!

It was a great first time for me - snorkeling off of a boat. I saw a barracuda and a sea turtle (thanks to our diver guide who made sure I spotted it!). The boat ride was long as others have said, but they certainly can't move the coral reef to a more convenient spot! The crew were fantastic and made sure the ride was fun. I did get some motion sickness when snorkeling due to the rough water, but I still had a magnificent time and felt fine once I was back on the boat. I didn't get the divers name but Joel was a lot of fun and made sure the trip was memorable. I guess we could have had more time at Playa Mia, but I got to eat, get some shopping done (chocolate!) and get the fish therapy too. I do recommend this if you don't have unrealistic expectations like some. :)

Horrible experience. We booked this at RIU hotel lobby with Destination services. It was supposed to be an all-day thing 7am to 5 pm. We were supposed to go snorkeling, then off to the beach. They have trampolines in the water, water slides, a pool. Beds to rest. Even jet skis. We took almost 2.5 hours to get to snorkeling location which was a long boat ride. At the location not to many fish. We did that for 30 min. Then we got back on board and went to an area 30 minutes away to go to a beach that was nice but nothing to look at. Just to swim a little more. Then we got back on the boat, drove on the boat 45 minutes to the final destination, which was the beach "PLAYA MIA" with all the activities. We arrived at 3 pm. Then they told us to be back at the boat at 4:15. To go back. Oh and a soon as we got there they gave us food. So we had to hurry and eat to do the activities. After we ate we only had time to swim out to the trampolines in the water. And it was very difficult to do on a full stomach. So we did not get to enjoy the Beach and the activities they had. Waste of money. We spent most of the day on the boat going and coming back. Oh and we had to wait 45 minutes at the main pier to go back, we almost suffocated waiting for the boat, because of the diesel exhaust. Horrible. Don't put your family through this.

We took the Playa Mia Snorkel and Beach Park excursion from Cozumel while on the Allure of the Seas cruise ship.

Pros: The only good thing about this trip was the crew. They worked very hard and tried to make it a pleasant trip.

Cons: This was a 5-hour excursion that was to include two snorkel stops and time at the Playa Mia Beach Park. From the cruise ship to the catamaran, it took over an hour before we left the dock. The catamaran didn't have a trampoline to sit on and enjoy the water splashing while you sailed. So we sat on the boat for another hour before getting to the first snorkel spot. We were told that everyone had to stay together in a group, so we were constantly kicked by other snorkelers. We only had about 20 minutes, the scenery was nothing special, and there was very little fish to view. The second "snorkel" spot was a sand bar with a few star fish, so no snorkel gear was needed. 20 minutes later, we were headed back to Playa Mia Beach Park, which took another hour of travel. By the time we got to the Beach Park, we had only 35 minutes to spend there, which included a buffet lunch on the beach. After eating, we had time to go on just one water slide before it was time to be taken back to the cruise port.

That night, my husband (who ate a large variety of things at the lunch buffet at Playa Mia) became violently ill. After the 4th round of extreme vomiting, he had to go to the ship's doctor and receive a shot. He was quarantined the last two days of the cruise, was not able to eat for four days, and missed two days of work.

We do not recommend this excursion and suggest that you spend your time elsewhere.

Excellent, but the hour stop off at Playa Mia Beach Park was unnecessary...would have preferred to spend longer snorkeling.

The tour leaves from Playa Del Carmen. If you are staying in the hotel zone, expect a one hour ride to Playa Del Carmen. There are shops there to see but we did not even have time to look around before we got on the ferry or after we got back from Cozumel. From Playa Del Carmen is another 45 minute ferry ride. The ferry takes you to Cozumel and then you board another boat to get to your snorkeling destination which is about 45 minutes to an hour. You get to snorkel for about 45 minutes then back to the boat and on to Playa Mia beach which is about 30-40 minutes ride. You then have about one and a half hour to eat lunch, go on the water park, or do the bouncy thing on the ocean. I felt that the whole trip was not worth it since we spent almost all day on a boat. 45 minutes snorkeling and then 1.5 hours on the beach. The slide was also not working when we got there. On the way back, another one hour to get to the pier to catch the ferry. We only had 40 minutes to look around and try to shop because you have to catch the ferry back to Cancun and then another 1.5 hours of driving back to the hotel zone. It was very tiring. I wish we had more time in Cozumel or on the beach. I must say that the staff was very helpful and very nice.
