We did the 6-day Mestia-Ushguli trek but opted to stay 3 days in Mestia and 2 days in Ushguli. Instead of trekking to Ushguli from Mestia, we did 'day treks' from Mestia and Ushguli. We not only visited the major 'highlights' of Ushba Waterfall, Koruldi Waterfall, Chkhutnieri Pass, Sakhara Glacier and Chalaadi Glacier, Dito (can't ask for a better driver/guide) also took my kids and climbed a couple of the peaks near Mestia and Ushguli. Everything went smoothly and there is no issue at all (the autumn colours is a bonus!). I have no qualms about recommending TrekGeorgia.

Fantastic 1-week hike from Mazeri to Ushguli organised by TrekGeorgia. Dito, our guide, knows the area like the palm of his hand and the whole trip was flawlessly organised. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous villages, and a good night's sleep at friendly guesthouses every day with excellent dinners and breakfasts. Dito was great at responding to every eventuality, including a potentially hazardous medical emergency affecting a group member. All in all a great experience, thanks TrekGeorgia!

We highly recommend signing up for this Svaneti trek with TrekGeorgia. It's a really beautiful route to trek, with several glaciers, rolling mountain passes and valleys, and interesting ancient villages along the way.
We had an amazing guide Nugo. He personally drove us all the way from Tbilisi to Mestia, which took pretty much the whole day. Along the way we had several stops to ensure we were all fresh and had good food, plus a very educational tour at the Enguri dam. Along the way Nugo shared with us about local history and culture. What we liked is that we felt very safe with him at the wheel, and he was always punctual. He drove us back to Tbilisi as well at the end of the trip. We also observed that he took the effort to carry extra things like a first aid kit, extra warm weather wear for us, etc. While we didn't need any of those, it shows how well-prepared they are at TrekGeorgia.
The actual trek was four days, from Mestia to Zhabeshi, Adishi, Iprali, then Ushguli. Nugo guided us all the way, helping us navigate and taking care of our welfare during the trek as well.
In terms of organization, Dimitri did a fantastic job too. He was always very responsive to my enquiries on email, and he arranged for very good guesthouse accomodation and meals for our entire trip.
This is tour is very suitable for those who want a bit of adventure in the Caucasus mountains, are of reasonable fitness, but do not have experience navigating in the wild by themselves.

I went on the six day Svaneti tour in July 2023.
Our guide/driver Nugo was knowledgable, friendly and easy going. For example, he consulted us on changing the last day to avoid having to walk km’s on a hot dusty road, and instead took us to see a glacier. We enjoyed having him as a guide. He had a good balance of being attentive without being overbearing.
The places we went to were spectacular and interesting. We stayed in small Georgian Alpine Villages I guess house where the host would make fresh bread, and their kids would play soccer in the backyard. Everywhere you went there. A beautiful views of mountains villages with centuries-old towers. We took horses across a raging river, and climbed up to a pass overlooking glaciers. It was great to be able to arrive in a guest house and have a hot shower after a long day of hiking. The food in most places was excellent. Dmitri provided me with information I needed to book and was very flexible and helpful with the booking process . Everything was on time and coordinated. It was an excellent trip and I highly recommend TrekGeorgia.

Dmitri organized an amazing tour for us, taking in to consideration our religious dietary requirements. The trek was fantastic we loved the mountains, scenery, people and culture. Our trekking guide George was wonderful and the fact that he was a local Svaneti guide, added to the amazing cultural experience. Dmitri's planning, content and logistics were beyond our expectations. We especially enjoyed our last day with Dmitri guiding us in Tbilisi. Thank you so much for an exceptional tour.

Trek Georgia and more specifically our guide Dimitri's expertise, knowledgeability, and personable character, set the stage for the perfect trekking experience. The Svaneti scenery is unmatched: jagged alpine mountains, miles of myriad wildflowers, and lovely 11th century villages where we stayed in family-run guesthouses with comfortable accommodations and delicious meals. "A river runs through it": water abounds in natural springs, streams and rivers. Additionally, we were fortunate with our trekking group, who over time and trail, felt like family.

I booked a private trip with my friend, Everything was 1st class from my 1st contact with Dimitri. We had a wonderful Guide Tato who looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble for him. The mountain views and flowers were beautiful. Our accommodation and food superb.
