This trip takes you through the interior of the rain forest. Pass through villages dotted along the coastline. Journey by boat up the Black River, Jamaica’s longest river, where you’ll see exotic birds, plants, and wildlife such as the endangered American crocodile. Take a trip to historic “Bamboo Avenue”, then to the Y.S. falls where you can enjoy nature in its natural state, as the cool refreshing water cascades down approximately 120 feet into the Y.S. River.

Islands tours did not show to our hotel; did not call, reach out to cancel. Highly unprofessional will not use them again. Then did not respond to Viator to get refund. They noted I completed the tour, lies.

My family of three were escorted by our lovely driver, Mr. Elton James. Despite a few other guests being late and thus making us late, he was able to get us to our tour spots to have the full experiences. He shared delightful insights about each parrish as we drove through and stopped along the way to grab some leaves and such to teach us about allspice, mangos, and other agriculture along the way. The weather was unkind on the way back, but Mr. James did his very best to make the ride as smooth as it could be. We went to the Black River for a tour on the water with a lively tour guide who showed us many crocs and birds, then we went to this intimate enclosure to visit two falls— our tour didn’t have zip longing but it was available and looked fun— then we went to the Appleton Estate for delicious lunch and tasty drinks (1 welcome drink + others I purchased). The guide at the Appleton Estate, Ms. Rasia, was a great tour guide with the right combo of funny, kind, informative, and professional. I would recommend this tour. I think it is important to caveat— please keep in mind where you are— the roads may be bumpy, traffic is unpredictable, and other guests impact the experience but it is not the tour guide’s fault. Be flexible, be present, and you will enjoy your experience.

As a group of 6 we were able to be our own tour group. Cargill was our driver and tour guide. He did an excellent job for us. It was a long but interesting ride and he made it enjoyable by sharing information about the country and some amusing Jamaican proverbs. He went the extra mile by supplying us with some delicious local fruits for snacks as well. Cargill helped make this adventure very fun for all of us.

The safari, the falls, and the Appleton Distillery were all great destinations. We have nothing but good things to say about all of the people who worked at these places. They were helpful, informative, and had a great sense of humor. We highly recommend taking this wonderful excursion.
