I had a wonderful morning with Alain, exploring several Montreal sights through a camera lens. We started in the glorious Parc de Mont Royal overlooking the city, then visited several architectural gems, and even took some shots of the Montreal Metro. I’m an intermediate photographer and felt instantly comfortable with Alain. We worked more on composition than mechanics, though he showed me some tricks for manipulating shutter speed to create artful blurring. We even got a chance to stop for some Montreal bagels! Highly recommended!

It was an incredible experience doing an evening/night solo photo tour with Alain. He is a complete master of photography and provides a full plate of quality photo sites based on your interests. I enjoyed conversing with him (we had some good laughs) and appreciated his calm demeanor. There was nothing rushed or hurried with any of our stops. Alain offered great composition suggestions and gave me plenty of freedom to explore creatively. I feel like I came back with many solid photos and a greater appreciation for the total beauty of Montreal.
You will have a quality, memorable experience in Montreal when booking with Alain. I could not possibly give a higher rating for his talents and services.

Alain picked us up at our hotel promptly. He was very professional and personable. He took us to beautiful landmarks and showed us how to take photos, settings, angles and of course he took our photos. The 4 hours went by so fast. Totally different experience from a typical tour. We had such a great time with Alain. The weather was perfect! Thank you for the warm bagel.

Alain is extremely knowledgeable about Montreal and photography! Knowing that I am a big fan of Leonard Cohen's work, he took me on a special Leonard Cohen tour, which is very cool. Alain is also generous in sharing photography tips with me. It is incredible how many places we visited in 4 hours. I had an amazing time! Thank you, Alain!

I never would have imagined how much fun it would be to do a photo tour of my own city. Alain made the entire experience memorable and worth repeating. We took photos from obvious spots, but also from locations that offered a unique view of Montreal. He made the photo shoot very easy and made me comfortable behind the camera. I was eager to learn and he gave me tips that were very helpful.
Regardless of your photography knowledge, Alain is the right person for a photo tour.

As first-time visitor to Montreal and a novice a photograph like me, you should absolutely consider booking Alain for a tour. I was there for a conference and didn't have a lot of extra time, so I had him take me to a few obvious/touristy places for convenience sake. I chose him because he was a location scout for the movies. He was able to show me some places I wouldn't have known about or how to even get to if I did. He was able to teach me a few things that I'm going to try to incorporate into my photography too. He may be a little bit pricey compared to some of the other choices you might have available, but you get what you pay for. I got some great shots, and I'm really glad I chose to work with Alain.

I did a photo tour with Alain and feel that it was very helpful. I knew that there were some good locations to shoot in Montreal, but I did not have a lot of time to spend in the city because I was visiting from out of town. I had never done a photo tour before and thought this would be a good opportunity to give it a try. I chose Alain because I wanted to see more than just the well known photo spots in the city. I was interested in getting to some places that are more unique and felt that with his background as a scout in the film industry Alain would be in a good position to make it happen.
We started off with a phone consultation and I sent some possible locations that had caught my attention. In my case, I was looking to shoot interesting architecture and possibly do some large night time panoramas. After a couple of emails back and forth we agreed on an itinerary and a date. Ultimately the shooting turned out really well. Over the course of six hours we hit a number of locations in the downtown/Old Montreal area and I did manage to get a good mix of different subjects in.
I think this tour was a worthwhile investment for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I would never have been able to get to all of these locations on my own over the course of one evening. Alain arranged the schedule so that we hit these locations in the perfect order so that I could get the shots that I wanted at the right time. We did the shoot in the late afternoon and into the evening. By keeping to the timings he ensured that I got the shots I wanted at the right time in relation to sunset that day. In addition, he suggested locations that I never would have thought of, given that I am not from the Montreal area. This allowed me to hit some interesting spots that otherwise I would have missed. I found Alain to be very helpful in terms of suggesting possible compositions. He is very personable and the time went by fast.
I actually took up photography because I wanted to display my own art in my home and I have just ordered an acrylic mount print of one of the shots from this photo tour. Overall am glad I went ahead with it and would definitely recommend Alain to anyone who wants to get the most out of shooting in this city.
