We had an excellent driver named Niko who we really enjoyed speaking to. He brought us to the sites (we visited Olympia, a honey farm and an olive oil facility.) and we loved all of it. This isn’t a tour per se, Niko didn’t walk around with us. But he was informative as he took us from place to place. Olympia was even better than I expected. We had a great day!

This was simply a driver who did not speak very good English. A booklet with pictures was handed to us about Olympia. The bee farm was a bit of a ripoff, charging 10 Euros per person for a glass of juice and a cookie, with an explanation of how the bees produce honey. Not worth it

Took a private tour due to some family handicaps. Even if no handicaps would have done private anyway. Dimitri was amazing. Knowledgeable, helpful, passionate about his country. It was a truly truly an amazing day. Full of some surprises too. Would totally recommend this. As for Dimitri it was like having a family member show you around.

Katherine was an excellent guide. She was knowledgeable and had an excellent command of English. The icing on the cake was a visit to a local honey farm. Klio, the fourth generation owner did a beautiful job of explaining bee keeping and the history of small family farms in this part of Greece.

The driver was polite and reliable. The ruins were extremely interesting, well worth the trip. The honey farm was informative and the beach excursion was relaxing and beautiful.

Our tour guide (Stathis) was great. Down to earth, knowledgeable, and very flexible with the schedule. We saw everything we wanted to and the day went perfectly. Pick-up and drop-off back to the cruise terminal was smooth. Recommended. Tip... get to Olympia as early as possible to beat the heat and beat the crowds, as we did.

We were picked up by an elderly gentleman in a beautiful Mercedes bus who did not introduce himself. His daughter was leading a tour at the same time and I suspect that “Papa” was covering for an overbooking.
At one time he was a cab driver in Australia and is now a farmer. He is definitely NOT a tour guide.

We received absolutely zero narration and the only information we were given about the UNESCO Heritage sight we were about to see was contained in a book we were handed as we got off the bus.

So, if you just want an expensive but quiet bus ride to the ruins, this is your tour, but if you want the real tour guide you were paid for, avoid this tour operator.

I feel very ripped off.

Dore picked up the four of us in a large mini bus. So comfortable and air conditioned! She took us first to the sight of the Olympic birthplace, arriving before the throngs of buses. While three of us toured on our own, she recommended a nearby cafe. The perfect way to see the sights, unencumbered by a guided tour and crowds. Afterwards, we went to a honey farm (not much to do on this island). Family members were fascinated by the process of beekeeping. She dropped us off at the town where it was an easy ride back. She was an excellent guide, patient and adaptable to our requests.
A local hint, dine at an t.indoor restaurant! The restuarant we picked had delicious and inexpensive food, but the flies made it impossible to eat.

Our driver Chris picked us up close to the cruise port. We had a car to take us around. We went to Olympia first which was good as coaches turned up soon after our arrival so we were able to get ahead. Chris suggested doing the ruins first so that we could go in the air conditioned museum afterwards. It was a very hot day but that is what you expect in August. It takes about 1-1.5 hours in the ruins and then another 1-1.5 hours in the museum. After our time here Chris took us to the honey farm. I must admit I didn't really want to go there but I am so glad I did, it was so interesting. I never knew those little bees had such complex and clever bodies and lives. It is a family business passed down through generations and it was brilliant, such friendly people and we got to taste the honey. I recommend it. Then Chris drove us to the beach by the cruise port which was a lovely little area. Chris gave us lots of information along the way and we felt safe with him. All in all a great trip, well worth the money.
