We sail by Fortezza, with its cannon ports still intact to keep the pirates ships out of the bay. So close you can almost touch it! With the view of the Aptera fort, the fort of the Idjedin prison just below it, past the beaches of Kalyves and Almyrides, the isle of Karga we reach for the lighthouse of Drapano.
With the White Mountains as a backdrop and always depended on wind direction we may sail northeast to a very small cove with beautiful sandy waters or we sail northwest around another small island to a beautiful lagoon, we drop anchor where you can swim/snorkel and play in crystal clear turquoise waters. While you swim I prepare you a freshly cooked Cretan/Spartan lunch with Greek specialties, local pasta, sauteed vegetables, fresh salad, mama’s olives, goat cheese, fresh bread, wine/beer/soda/water and finally fresh yogurt with sweet fruit and Greek sweets. You enjoy, eat, relax and then we raise anchor to sail back to port, usually as the sun starts to set in front of us.

Great day with Nikos, the boat was pristine, the company lovely, he was extremely accommodating, he prepared a wonderful lunch and shared facts on what we were seeing. 100% recommend

We charter a day with Nikos every time we come to Crete if at all possible.
Probably about 5 times now.
We now regard him as more of a friend than anything else. He loves his cats!
This year my wife and I booked Nikos as a gift for a friend's birthday we also invited her friend too.
As usual we had a brilliant full days sailing with Nikos and Alex (new crew member)
Nikos is a brilliant skipper, his knowledge of Crete and the area is brilliant and he can take you to places not many others go, weather permitting.
This is a highly recommended trip on any holiday in the vicinity of Chania with the best skipper! and mate!
Really very friendly and will do everything to ensure you have a great day.

Nikos and Alex were really great, quiet stroll in the bay, then several stops in superb spots with crystal clear water.
Lunch on the boat, there were 7 of us. We had a great time. Worthy of a good Greek restaurant.
Nikos gives a lot of explanation about the bay and the different forts and chapels visited.
This boat is superb. Everything came together.
What a joy to sail with the force of the wind!

Absolutely great first time experience on a boat. It was our first time on a private sail boat as such, and Alex and Nikos really gave us a great experience. Nikos seemed like a very experienced skipper and a great story teller, giving us lots of little information regarding different views, forts, and even gave us recommendation for the rest of our trip in Crete. On the other hand, although Alex was not as talkative as Nikos, he made up for it with his amazing culinary skills. We had a delicious lunch prepared by Alex and Nikos, homemade Greek meatballs, Greek salads, Tzatziki. The day that we went was quite unfortunate regarding the weather as we could not make as many stops to swim around, however Nikos and Alex still gave us an experience that we will never forget. I would 100% recommend anyone who would like a great private sailing experience in Chania.

A perfect day sailing, beautiful weather, gorgeous yacht and even better company. We had a wonderful experience onboard Be Happy with Nikos and Alex. We took turns sailing, dropped anchor in beautiful clear waters for a swim while Nikos made us a typical Cretan lunch - with all the produce from his own garden. It was a magical day and the highlight of our 10 days in Crete. When we arrived in port, we had issues with the taxi picking us up and Nikos was kind enough to take us back to our hotel himself. Incredible day - wonderful humans! Book it now, you won't regret it.

A very pleasurable sail aboard ‘Sailaway’ made better by the kindness and graciousness of Gianni and Cristina who dealt with a few of our logistical issues without the slightest complaint. Our teenage kids had the time of their life on the water.

Massive thanks to Nikkos and Alex for a wonderful day on a stunning yacht. The skipper was very knowledgable and informative. Swimming in crystal blue/green water was brilliant, and lunch was healthy home cooked mostly fresh from the owners garden. Drinks and beer on tap with the added bonus of learning how to sail.

Nikos was a great host - very welcoming, hospitable, friendly and knowledgeable. We felt like his friends who were visiting for a drink. His boat was clean and spacious and made for such a fun day at sea. He made sure we were safe and had a great time. Wine and lunch were also fantastic, with plenty of food for our group of 4. Bring sunscreen :)
