The Leopold Museum in the Museum Quarter has a unique collection of the most insightful, deep and scandalous masterpieces of the Viennese Modernist movement as well as Austrian Expressionism. In the early 20th century artist in Vienna, such as Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, Richard Gerstl started to use their works as a medium of self-expression and self-exploration to an increasing extent.

This private is designed to reveal historic, scientific and biographical factors that defined the way art was created in Vienna and it also introduces different ways art is being approached since the beginning of the 20th century.

This is a tour for a group of up to 6 people without museum tickets. It is suitable for those who prefer to enter the museums with a tourist pass, a combi-ticket or who prefer to buy their own tickets. When you come from a country like New Zealand it is wonderful to experience art like these works in reality. I liked that there was freedom to visit and take time to reflect on works that I wanted to see. I was not rushed in any way.

I am Viennese myself and I know works of Schiele and Klimt and I saw them so many times but as our friends came to Vienna for a visit we decided to book a guided tour and this tour was a wonderful choice. It was a very interesting mix of pieces of information from history, medicine, art therapy... We liked it very much and I got a very new feeling for great art and I absolutely recommend our knowledgeable and passionate guide.
