During the Tour not only will you be discovering the grim realities of the past, while being immersed in the reality of the history, as you encounter characters from the very times that you explore... Encountering the history face to face!!

Our guide, Will, knows more about the history of the area than you can imagine; he has an answer for every question! Tour is a great value and was 3+ hours long! Very informative! Loved the special guest!

The tour was very surprising because it focused on the history of the underbelly of English society. I like how they included historical references to common words and phrases we use today. Our guide was very informative and organized the details well and also had a companion who stopped in and represented different roles involving the common man such as a serf.
I learned a lot, but I will caution that this history does focus on the seamy side. Do not book if you have a weak stomach and do not bring anyone under 16. Strong profanity is used but always explained in an historical context.

A fantastic evening learning about the darker side of Southwark…those everyday lives that are shocking and tragic! Oli was an excellent story who kept us engaged from the very start.

This tour was a ton of fun! Our guide, Mary, was super knowledgeable about Southwark so we learned a lot. But there were also fun twists and surprises along the way. It was highly entertaining while still being informative. The harsh realities of Southwark life in the past were not sugar-coated, so just a heads up if that is not your cup of tea. But if you are amenable to excellent story telling that skews more towards the realities of the day, I highly recommended this tour!

We expected a blood-curdling history of London, and Cloak and Dagger certainly delivered on that count—but were also pleasantly surprised by the guide’s depth of knowledge, the attention paid to London’s historically oppressed populations, and the subtle but palpable anti-authoritarian lean. Highly recommend for anyone wishing to take a deeper look at the city’s history (and especially for those with strong stomachs).

It was quite drawn out. Although pleasant lady was knowledgeable it was a little bit too theatrical and patronising. Better for a younger audience.
