This seven day private tour offers the travellers a unique opportunity to get to know Icelandic culture and all its nature's secrets. This tour is equipped with a friendly and knowledgeable guide who treats each traveller as part of family. In addition to the beautiful must see Icelandic places, this journey will also include some local's favorites.

1. Thingvellir
In 930 the Icelandic Parliament, the first democracy in the world, was established at Thingvellir. Thingvellir became a World Heritage Site in 2004. We walk to Öxarárfoss waterfall.
2. Geysir
The geyser Geysir itself erupts boiling water up to 70 meters, but is almost inactive. Strokkur, only few meters apart from Geyser, erupts on average every 4 minutes.
3. Gullfoss Waterfall
Near Geysir is the beautiful Gullfoss Waterfall. Enjoy the view from above and walk down the path to get close to the powerful waterfall.
4. Fridheimar
At Friðheimar greenhouse, tomatoes are cultivated, using geothermal heat and geothermally generated electricity. With a tropical climate inside, they have opened a restaurant, right there in the tomato field. The main ingredients in their menu are, of course, tomatoes grown there. This is a very rare and unique lunch experience.
5. Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin
Secret Lagoon is a natural geothermal bath, where you bath in raw nature and relax at the end of the day. Overrnight near Hvolsvöllur.
6. Seljalandsfoss
Seljalandsfoss waterfall is 60 m high, and is one of few in the world where you can easily walk and experience it from behind.
7. Skogafoss
Skógafoss is the most famous waterfall in Iceland. Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss are both in glacier rivers, meltwater from Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull.
8. Solheimajokull Glacier
Sólheimajökull is an outlet glacier, flowing out of the ice cap Mýrdalsjökull. Underneath Mýrdalsjökull is the famous volcano Katla.
9. Dyrholaey
At Dyrhólaey there is an amazing view of the south coast landscape and black beaches. Dyrhólaey is a 120-metre high promontory that the sea has eroded from the headland.
10. Reynisfjara Beach
Iceland is a volcanic island, made up mainly of basaltic material that is black in color. Hence, the “Black Beaches”. The black beach was, in 1991, ranked as one of the ten most beautiful non-tropical beaches in the world. On the beach there are the remarkable basalt columns. Reynisdrangar is a seastack, a geological formation made by wave erosion of surrounding material. Overnight near Vík.
11. Skaftafell
Skaftafell National Park belongs now to a larger, Vatnajökull National Park, which covers Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe, and the surrounding wilderness.

Fjarðargljúfur canyon is a beautiful canyon carved and formed by glacial river during the termination of the last ice age, about 9.000 years ago. The canyon is about 100 m deep and 2 km long. Fjarðárgljúfur became world famous after appearing in one of Justin Bieber´s music video.
13. Fellsfjara
Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is a beautiful lagoon in front of a calving glacier. We will enjoy the amazing view of floating icebergs in a lagoon and walk between them at the black beach, which is sometimes referred to The Diamond Beach.
14. Jokulsarlon
Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon is a beautiful lagoon in front of a calving glacier. We will enjoy the amazing view of floating icebergs in a lagoon and walk between them at the black beach, which is sometimes referred to The Diamond Beach.
15. Fjallsarlon Iceberg Lagoon
Fjallsárlón is another beautiful glacier lagoon, in front of a calving glacier. The glacier is an outlet glacier from Vatnajökull that flows down a steep valley until it reaches the lagoon. Ice breaks off the glacier and floats around in the water, creating a beautiful scenery.
16. Iceland
Ice cave exploration into natural ice caves, in winter (November – March). Overnight near Höfn.
17. Djupivogur
Djupivogur, picturesque fishing village, is known for its art and beautiful views.

On our way to Egilsstaðir, we will visit Hengifoss and Litlanesfoss waterfalls. Hengifoss waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in Iceland, located in a beautiful geological setting. Litlanesfoss is surrounded by beautiful basalt columns.
19. Lake Myvatn
On our way to Mývatn, we will visit Egilsstaðir village which is located on the banks of the Lagarfljót river. Overnight at Mývatn.
20. Dettifoss Waterfall
Dettifoss waterfall is the largest waterfall in Iceland and the most powerful in Iceland and Europe. It falls about 100 meters down to Jökulsárgljúfur canyon.

Námaskarð, often referred to Hverarönd is an active and ever changing field of thermal springs, mud pots and boiling mud. The geothermal activity brings to the surface bubbling mud pools and steaming ground and colorful fumaroles and solfataras. The beautiful colours are due to sulphur and white and yellowish brown sulphates are deposited.
22. Krafla Lava Fields
Few kilometres to the north of Námaskarð, is Krafla, the central volcano.
23. Dimmuborgir Lava Formations
Dimmuborgir, an amazing geological wonder, is composed of massive lava tubes, up to few meters in diameter. They were formed about 2.300 years ago, when the lava flowed over a small lake. The water started to boil and the vapour rose through the lava forming these massive lava tubes. Dimmuborgir is the home to the icelandic jule lads.
24. Lake Myvatn
Lake Mývatn is one of the largest lakes in Iceland, home to many migrating birds in the summer. Skútustaðagígar are beaufitul pseudocraters at the southwestern corner of the lake.
25. Myvatn Nature Baths (Jardbodin vid Myvatn)
Jarðböð spa, is naturally heated man-made lagoon, with mineral-rich waters known for their health-giving properties.
26. Godafoss
On our way to Akureyri we stop by the amazing Goðafoss, „Waterfall of the Gods“.
27. Akureyri
We arrive in Akureyri. City tour and dinner on your own. Overnight in Akureyri.
28. Kirkjufell Mountain
Kirkjufell, located on the northern site of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, is one of the most picturesque mountains in Iceland, and with the Kirkjufell waterfall in the vicinity makes a wonderful nature stop.

30. Djupalonssandur Beach
Djúpalónssandur black beach. Djúpalónssandur black beach is a bay at the tip of Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The black small pebbles on the beach have been smoothed by the ocean waves, and amongst them are scattered rusty parts of a wreckage of a ship that stranded in the area in 1948.
31. Hellnar
Hellnar is a small and ancient fishing village. The beach has amazing rock formation which we will visit.
32. Vatnshellir Cave
Vatnshellir lava cave is a lava tube in a 8000 year lava field. The lava was formed in an eruption in a nearby crater Purkhólar. During the eruption the lava flowed downhill, cooling down on the surface while still running below, ultimately draining out and leaving a beautiful lava tube, which is now accessible.
33. Arnarstapi
Arnarstapi is a small fishing village on the southern side of Snæfellsnes Peninsula. It is known for its sculpture of Bárðr, who was a half human and half ogre. His mother was human, but his father was half giant and half troll. Bárðr, his wife and his daughters emigrated to Iceland and came to shore in Djúpalón. Bárðr and his family lived in the area and the legend says that after losing his daughter, he gave away his land and vanished into the Snæfellsjökull ice cap. He became the “guardian spirit” of the Snæfellsnes area and was worshipped by the locals in many years to come.
34. Londrangar Basalt Cliffs
Lóndrangar cliffs are rock peaks that have formed by erosion of the surrounding material. Lóndrangar are volcanic plugs of basalt, at 75 and 61 meters of height.

Intotheglacier. This is a man made ice tunnel into the second largest glacier in Iceland, Langjökull. A pickup for the trip is in Húsafell. A monster truck will transport passengers upon the glacier where a guide welcomes you and takes you on a trip of your lifetime. In a good weather the view from the glacier top is spectacular. In summer (April – October).
36. Hraunfossar
Hraunfossar and Barnafossar waterfalls are located in the less visited Western part of Iceland, Borgarfjörður. Hraunfossar are one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland, where series of waterfalls stream out of the porous lava into the Hvítá river. The streaming water stretches over a distance of around 900 meters, out of Hallmundarhraun lava field.

Barnafossar, means the children´s waterfall, are named after children that lost their lives into the waterfall. The story says that there was a natural bridge, of lava, over the waterfall, that was destroyed by a mother that lost two of her children while crossing the river over that bridge.
38. Borgarnes
We stop in the small village, on our way to Reykjavík.

Traveling Iceland helped us have a wonderful trip to Iceland. It gave us a glimpse of the life and beauty of the island. Touring Iceland is definitely a class act.Well researched and routed. Not only did we see all the spectacular sights there are to see in the south island, but a taste of culture, geology, history, myths and legends and expertise that would be difficult to rival anywhere.
Dr Helga and Sigru’n were nothing short of spectacular and entertaining! I couldn’t have picked better tour guides to fulfill my trip of a lifetime with. Every single experience and opportunity to explore was just better than the next! This was a 5 star curation and experience. Thank you!

We had a lovely time visiting Iceland. As we didn’t hire a car Helga’s customised tours ensured that we managed to see all of Iceland sights including going beyond the itinerary to take us to the beautiful Diamond beach. We started as customers but parted as friends- beautifully run tours of small sizes so as personalised as you would like and value for money at the same time.
