Ava did a great job telling us about the art and artists. She was also careful to keep the sidewalk open and to keep us out of the street!

Great tour lead , she was really knowledgeable and helpful. She was open to all/ any questions. I learned loads about the area I thought I knew. She taught about the different styles of art. Good to hear about women making progress , the effects of corporate £ and future. Would highly recommend this to everyone.

Our tour guide, Gabriela, was lovely. She really knew her stuff, and she was quite entertaining. This was a bit off the beaten path, but definitely worth it. My husband and I soaked up a lot of interesting details at a comfortable pace.

The tour with Alternative London was very interesting and entertaining. The selection of artworks, the background knowledge about the work and the artist, and the small talk in between made the time fly by. Many thanks again to the Alternative London team... we would do it again anytime.

My family of four was recently in London and I learned of Alternative London's tours via online searches. With a student in art school and an old family allegiance to the "underground" art scene in our own city, the opportunity to get a knowledgeable introduction to the local street art scene—and by extension brief introduction to the east end and Brick Lane—was perfect for us. All the more so by bike as we are bike commuters back home.
We went in with high expectations, not least for the many rave reviews we encountered.
They were soundly exceeded.
If there were any flaw in our tour it was that we could have happily spent the entire day with Gary. We saw so much and learned so much in a few hours that it remains one of the standout, peak, unanimously cherished experiences of our holiday.
The bikes provided were comfortable and In great shape and the biking despite our adjustment to riding on the left was all but effortless, even our younger kid who expressed concern about effort and safety found the experience easy safe and fun.
If you're unsure about biking or walking, I would absolutely recommend the former. While we passed a concurrent "walking" tour on a couple occasions and it was clear they were getting a solid survey, we were definitely able to see more and see more context—and variable neighborhoods—on wheels.
The area covered was a perfect not to mention striking contrast to the nearby City, and west end, and gave us additional context for the ongoing gentrification and redevelopment of both the east and south bank.
The art we saw was varied, inspiring, and memorable. The neighborhood a treasure. So to this organization whose commitment to what they do and love for the local community and this expression of its artistry.
Six stars.

The walking tour provided an excellent and insightful introduction to the vibrant graffiti and street art scene in the East End. Our tour guide, Laura, an artist herself, brought the area to life by introducing us to numerous UK and international artists.
She shared her enthusiasm for their work and the diverse techniques they employ. Whilst not artists ourselves, Laura was able to convey her knowledge without ever patronising us, and shared many incredible stories about the street artists as individuals and as part of a thriving community.
Without Laura's knowledge of the area, we would have overlooked so much of the artwork all around us and wouldn't have appreciated the unique ways artists communicate through their work.

Attended with my somewhat hard to please 21 yr old daughter. Turned out to be amongst one of her favourite of her London activities. We both attributed this to our guide Laura who effortlessly went beyond the usual script-based guiding experience and imbued her delivery with thought-provoking, comic, and insightful commentary on the socio-political and cultural significance of the movement. Well worth the modest investment for art lovers and neophytes alike!
