WHAT TO EXPECT

Our guide will meet you at Kusadasi Port / Hotel with EPHESUS SHUTTLE sign. Meeting times are differ for each cruise line. Meeting time will be given during your confirmation.
2. Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)
We will have 30 min. drive to The House of Virgin Mary is located on the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council on 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared there as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there.
3. Ancient City of Ephesus
We will have 10 mins drive to Ephesus from The House of Virgin Mary. We will start visiting one of the main highlights in Turkey, Ephesus, one of the 12 cities of Ionian League (an ancient Greek district on the western coast of Asia Minor) is located near Izmir. As a port city it was a major departure point for trade routes into Asia Minor. Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus; it was built in the beginning of the 2nd century A.D. by Gaius Julius Aquila to be a memorial to his father Gaius Julius Celsus Polemanus, the proconsul of Province of Asia. , the Temple of Hadrian and The Grand Theater are two of the most impressive buildings in Ephesus. Grand theatre was built in 3rd century B.C and it was later expanded to 24.000 spectators by the Romans in the 1st century A.D.
4. Ephesus Terrace Houses
Terrace houses included in " with Terrace Houses options " only. Not included in other options. Terrace Houses is located on skirt of Pion Mountain. There are 6 residential units which were built on three man-made terraces. These houses were settled by wealty citizens of Ephesus. These houses were very fancy decorated with wall frescoes and floor mosaics. There are many steps to ascend from bottom to top. Not recommended for people who has walking difficulties and acro-phobia (fear of heights).
5. Setur Kusadasi Marina Carsi
Drive to Port through Kusadasi Marina. Arriva and the end of services
6. The Temple of Artemis
We will stop at Artemission Temple where used to be one of the seven wonders of the ancient world as our last stop before drive back to your hotel / Kusadasi town center and port.

Was a great experience. Ephesus and Mary’s house were fantastic. Be aware that there are entrance fees for both places.

Nilgun was an amazing tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and worked around our interests and preferences for the Ephesus and Virgin Mary tours. We also visited leather and rug making stores whose products and employees were phenomenal. We finished our tour with delicious Turkish cuisine and a plethora of native wines and drinks. This was truly a trip to remember!

She was amazing, took us to so many local places, and authentic and small shops. The food place was great, and she never left us alone without guidance. I recommend this tour, especially with her!

This was a super Ephesus and more tour! I can't think of a reason to take a different tour. Very easy to find the guide at the pick up point near the cruise ship terminal exit. Very flexible with the return time so you don't stress about your departure. Totally AC in the A+ condition van. The guide Ozan and driver were great. They asked what else we wanted to see and made every adjustment. They advised on what would be a good use of our time. I especially recommend the little restaurant by the rug factory!!! The handmade rug factory was excellent and informative -- impressive but polite sales effort there. Ephesus was great.

Must do tour. With right a tour in Ephesus you would really miss out on a lot. Great tour guide, great sites.

We chose to do this tour while on our cruise. Was a little hesitant to do a tour outside of the cruise line. But so glad we did. This was by far the best tour we did on our entire cruise ( we also toured, Pompeii, colosseum, Vatican ) our tour guide was seçil ( I hope I spelled that correct). She was by far the best tour guide we had the entire trip. He English was really good she was very knowledgeable and inform able. She also took us to a pottery making demonstration and a carpet weaving demo. I wasn’t excited about this part but it turned out to be very fascinating. Both the pottery and the carpets are amazing quality. I would highly recommend this excursion and tour company

This experience exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide and driver were absolutely fabulous. Her love of her country and knowledge of the history was amazing and we learned so much along the way. She was willing to adjust the time we spent outside due to the heat and we ended up getting to see everything and experience even more than we imagined. The House of Mary was a beautiful experience. I was very impressed with the Ephesus ruins. The lunch at the Turkish rug demonstration was absolutely perfect. We were able to try several different Turkish foods and loved them all. We also loved the stop at Firca where my daughter had the chance to use a pottery wheel and create a bowl and we were able to purchase beautiful handmade ceramics. The van was very clean and comfortable and perfect to cool us down in between stops. I would recommend this excursion to everyone!

This is a must-see experience!! Ephesus was unreal. Would highly recommend going with a tour guide so you can get all the good history. Selenay, our guide, was so resourceful and kind. For a private tour, you can personalize your experience as well.

Keep in mind the extra cost of the admission fees. If you are tighter on budget, I think the House of Mary and Temple of Artemis were not essential to the experience.
