We had 2 hours to kill before our coach home the
St Paul's experience was so great we plan to come back with more time to spare. You have to be fit to climb the stairs but the views were well worth it.

The guide was not safety aware. He approached a dangerous situation near Trafalgar Square and had to be told to leave. He cut through traffic. He did not know basic London facts. His timing was off about Buckingham Palace. I ordered and paid for six hours and only received three. His three hour tour ended at the Abbey and he cut us loose. Then I had to find my own way to St Paul's.

It’s a long walk and 5 hours of standing but it covers everything you need to see in one day in London.
Just be careful you’ll have enough time to visit the church at the end as the tour leader leaves you before and you may not get to the church before closing.

Pre booked our tickets and visiting time for a reasonable price and totally worth it, no queues to get in, would recommend picking up headset to listen to all the fascinating facts about the different areas and history of the building which is beautiful. Definitely worth the many steps up to the top for the fantastic views of the surrounding city. Felt very safe with everyone distancing and keeping themselves to themselves. A peaceful and tranquil, fact filled visit.

Absolutely worth the admission fee and such a gorgeous place to visit and a great view from the top as well if you’re up for quite a few stairs.

The magnificent building is even more moving with the echo of angelic voices at Evensong. If you are in the know and arrive early enough, you can sit in the quire with the choristers and the clergy. Just don’t understand how anyone could go to it and then walk out without making any donation. And unfortunately most did not.

St Paul's Cathedral dedicated to St Paul, has stood on this highest point in the City of London for over 1,400 years. It was designed by Britain's most famous architect, Sir Christopher Wren. We visited on a beautiful sunny day in January as part of our friends birthday treat. Ensure you book in advance and note that most visitors spend an average of two hours inside. When we went, the Whispering Gallery was closed and is expected to remain closed until April 2020. The other higher galleries remain open, however be prepared for the 500 steps upto the top along with a narrowing stairway as you ascend. Unfortunately I couldn't manage the stairs, so waited in the cafe for my friends to return. The photos they took from the summit where spectacular and coincided with the winter sun setting, I was surprised to learn that the highest point is outside! Once inside this beautiful, iconic building, you cannot fail to be overwhelmed by the Cathedrals magnificent dome; one of the highest in the world. So many memorable services have been held here, the funerals of The Duke of Wellington, Winston Churchill and Margaret Thatcher to name but a few and of course the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana, watch by millions around the world.
The Cathedral is a working Anglican church, with hourly prayers and daily services. We were fortunate to be there for 5 o clock evensong, which was absolutely beautiful and peaceful.
Personally I think a visit is well worth the £20 entrance fee but if you wish to save a few pounds, tickets can be purchased on-line at a reduced rate.

Centuries upon centuries of so many religious, military and political figures are displayed in St. Paul's Cathedral. A testimony to the British Monarchy and how church and state controlled the UK and all the territories in its path. the epic stories engraved in the mausoleums were too much to take in during the hours we were there. This place deserves a second and third visit to soak up the history and the massive art works.

Be prepared for the crowds and the tour groups during the summer. Its easy to feel rushed.
