Zoom around the Icelandic waters aboard a custom designed RIB speed-boat, and enjoy close-up views of whales, dolphins, puffins and more.

The small yet powerful vessel is not just manoeuvrable out on the waters but also capable of reaching high speeds, allowing you to cover a larger area and get closer to the Reykjavik wildlife than you would in a classic boat.

After seeing the sights on the open water, enjoy panoramic views to admire Jón Gunnar Árnason’s 'Sun Voyager' sculpture and Harpa Concert Hall on the shoreline.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

WHAT TO EXPECT

This great whale watching tour starts from the Old Harbour of Reykjavík and during the puffin season (early May to the end of August) we also visit the puffins in their natural habitat. Next we head out in search of the whales. There are very few things that will beat the experience of seeing the whales and dolphins as up close as you can at sea level from our RIB boats. On this fun tour the fast, stable and safe boats also allow us to cover more area as we search for the wild life, thus increasing your chances of spotting whales, dolphins and bird-life.

During the puffin season (early May to the end of August) we also visit the puffins in their natural habitat, at the Islands of Akurey, Engey or Lundey just outside of Reykjavík. The journey here is a short one, and we spend around 5-10 minutes with the Puffins. Puffins, auks, gannets and an incredible variety of other sea birds dominate the skies and sea cliffs just a few minutes sailing from the Old Harbour. Our RIB's are fast and small so we get you extra close and extra quickly out to the islands!
3. Faxafloi Bay
Next we head out in search of the whales in Faxaflói Bay. There are very few things that will beat the experience of seeing the whales and dolphins as up close as you can at sea level from our RIB boats. Our whale watching boats are equipped with high performance suspension seats. These shock absorbing seats increase safety and comfort and reduce the risk of injuries. So you can comfortably & securely enjoy your whale watching adventure out on the North Atlantic waters.
4. Sun Voyager
After the whale safari we travel back to Reykjavík, where we will take ride along the city's shore line, experiencing a unique panoramic view of Reykjavík from the sea (perfect for photos). Our boats will take you past the Sun Voyager sculpture on the seafront.
5. Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Conference Centre
We then go by the harbour side of Iceland's most famous building, the glittering Harpa Concert Hall.

Finally, after a great adventure at sea, we head back to the harbour! This is approximately two hours after the tour start time.

Had such a great time! Got to see dolphins jumping right in front of our RIB boat. A humpback whale also showed off its tail a couple of times and that was an amazing sight to see. Seeing all the puffins in the end was also wonderful - they're so adorable.

My sister and I sat in the front seats so it got quite bumpy but we enjoyed the adrenaline rush, and it all paid off because we ended up getting the best views. Our guide Emily was also very informative and our captain Stefan was remarkable at spotting the animals. We took the 8pm trip and the views of the sea and Reykjavik at dusk were stunning.

Today I realized a dream. Seeing up close....very close up numerous minke whales and humpback whales that left us speechless....and then so many dolphins playing with us, swimming alongside us and jumping in a wonderful show. And there was no shortage of cute puffins...an unforgettable day. Pedro and Anna were fantastic!

I reserved this experience in advance and had put it on our calendar so we planned to go the morning of to the Reykievik harbor and meet up for our tour. I was pleasantly surprised to get an email and text reminder that we are still "ON" for the tour. That should have been my first clue that we are in great hands, but it only got better.

Emily was our tour guide and Captain Gunni drove the boat, but we were checked in by the office staff that was welcoming and helpful. Everything, from gloves and goggles to suits and safety vests was smooth and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the whales and slew of dolphins. Emily's narrative was great, as she provided information but was not one of those annoying tour guides you can't wait to get away from. Sunni did a fun "ride" on the boat as we came back into harbor. Frankly, we would have been extremely pleased with the experience along, as it was really great. But things got better a few hours later when we received an email thanking us for coming on the tour and sharing photos that Emily took while we were out on the water watching the whales and dolphins, as well as a quick "captains log" report on what we saw.

Well worth the money paid, but really a delightful experience that I highly recommend.

Great sightings! Also, put your phone down and enjoy the views… the boat driver takes amazing photographs that they post on Dropbox. Guaranteed way better than what you can get with your phone!

The tour was real run and I cannot complain about what was provided. Nice suits, good communication, and safe and enjoyable boat ride. I rode in the smaller, high speed zodiak style boat. The guide was also great and did a wonderful job. The bad? We didn’t see any whales. It’s disappointing and was the purpose of the trip. It is not the fault of the tour company, because you’re looking for a whale in a big ocean. I just wish the rate is adjusted depending upon what you see and not 100% charged when it’s a low probability gamble you will see a whale at all.
