We loved this food tour with Melis! It was a great way to check out the Asian side of Istanbul and to try a good variety of so many different Turkish foods and drink. Melis was very knowledgeable and made it super fun. A highlight of our trip!

Enjoyed our food tour experience with Melis today. She is cheerful, with a sense of humour and shared a ton of information on the various dishes we tasted, her city and its culture. All the dishes were new to us but each was tasty and filling. As you start eating a breakfast dish at around 11:00 and several others over the next 3 hours I suggest you don’t eat beforehand. I ended up taking a doggy bag! Well worth it and a delightful way to spend 4 hours. We caught the ferry across from Eminonu to Kadikoy - recommended too.

Our host, Melis, could not have been more knowledgeable and friendly. She took us to an amazing variety of authentic Turkish restaurants in Kadikoy where we were made to feel extremely welcome. We had a wonderful few hours, learnt a great deal and had some top-notch food. Thank you, Melis we'll spread your name far and wide.

Melis did a great job! We took very easily the ferry to get to Kadiköy, on the Asian part of Istanbul. There we met Melis who brought us in 6 stops to local and very delicious typical food-restaurants.
At least a lot of the food was known by us but everywhere we tried before it wasn‘t as good as the food we tried on the tour! Often we could watch the chef while preparing. So from us big recommendation to go!

Had a great tour sampling lots of different local food and our guide Melis was delightful and knowledgable. There was plenty of variety and the walking was quite easy. We also got to see the hidden areas we would not have found ourselves. Really enjoyed it.

We had a terrific morning with Melis who was able to bring the Asian side of Istanbul into focus for us. Her food knowledge was as we had hoped really thorough, but her knowledge of the history and traditions of Anatolia through to Türkiye was also vast. I would thoroughly recommend the tour, have a light snack at most before you go, by the end you will be full!

We had a wonderful Secret Food Tour with Melis our guide. Not only was the food delicious and there was plenty, we appreciated the vast knowledge she shared regarding the food we ate, the regions it came from and generally her warmth and ease at showing us Kadikoy.
We would definitely recommend this tour.

Erbil was an amazing guide and introduced us to Istanbul on the first day of our trip. Not only did we try lots of food we would not otherwise have found or tried, he also taught us lots about his city and showed us it’s hidden corners. It was the perfect introduction to Istanbul

I came to Istanbul with my girlfriend for a whirlwind trip of 2 days, and deciding to spend 4 hours of it with Melis was certainly not a mistake. Melis guided our group with a lot of passion, teaching us all about Istanbul, the different neighborhoods, and many different foods. She was also so willing and able to answer any questions we threw her way. Whether you’re staying on the European or Asian side of the Bosphorus, this is not a tour to miss. We loved starting our Istanbul break with this food tour. Melis was a knowledgeable and considerate guide who clearly has a great love for her city and its food. She has a great relationship with the people and businesses that fed us and made sure we all had an enjoyable experience. It was also a really great way to explore the Asian side of the Bosphorus. I would recommend to anyone.
