My young adult son and I loved this experience. Chris K. was incredible so ask for him by name. Private is fantastic, as we still hit the main food highlights, but also are discussing the markets themselves, taking different approaches for different ways of eating, etc. I know he also leads groups as well. I really appreciated the vendors / stands themselves, and the follow-on discussions we enjoyed. I'm really grateful.
Chris himself is exceptional as fully bi-culturally and language wise represents the best of both Korea and the United States given his upbringing.
His knowledge of the "what", "why" and "how" is impressive -- especially for my foodie son (who yes, takes pictures of all of his food :) ) and myself (insatiably curious) ...
Definitely go with Secret Food Tours and definitely work with Chris K. If you're a foodie, consider a private walking tour. Then, enjoy!

Chris was an excellent guide. Enjoyed the food stops and really enjoyed the route. Went back the next day to a couple of the areas we visited to spend more time and visit some of the places we walked by that also looked good.

First time in Seoul Korea, this was a great way to explore the amazing food culture in Korea as a solo traveller and be able to share with others. Alex is a fantastic host, very knowledge and thoughtful. Highly recommend!

The tour was very fun and informative. We ate amazing food and our guide Chris was fabulous - friendly and knowledgeable and gave us so much insight into Korean culture food and everyday life. Definitely recommend the tour to get to know the food and the city.

We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the information provided during this food tour! There was an abundance of delightful dishes, and it was wonderful to sample so many traditional Korean dishes, as well as those with a modern twist. Our tour guide, Alex, was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. He answered all of our questions. The only minor issue was the company's approach to tipping. It was awkward to receive a pre-tour email about tipping, a prompt at the tour's start, and a follow-up email with a PayPal link for those who "forgot" to tip. This persistent mention of gratuities felt out of place in Korea, where the tipping culture is not common as it is in Western countries like the US, and where tipping is even considered inappropriate. Other than that, the experience was superb.

We had a tour with Sarah who was unbelievably accommodating, patient, understanding, knowledgeable and good fun!! Overall, we loved the tour but really Sarah was a star and would recommend going!
The food was amazing, if you don't want to eat it on the tour you can take with you (we had a hotel room picnic after).
On the tour we visited some great places and areas which we ended up going back to visit the next day.
Honestly writing this review has made me hungry thinking about all the good food - book and enjoy :)
