There are a number of tours available to choose from. We chose the day tour from Kununurra, which included a walk to the Cathedral Gorge, and a 30 minute helicopter flight.

We were picked up and dropped off at our accommodation without issue in a comfortable small bus. The communications were great with a text message reminding us of the pick up time the day before.

The return fixed wing flight - we had Captain Charles. He provided great and interesting information on the flight, and manoeuvred the aircraft to provide both sides of the plane views of the main sites such as the Gorges etc. I fly in this type of aircraft regularly for work, and Charles was a fantastic aviator and very professional. His landings were as smooth as silk, and the landing at the Bungle Bungles required a reasonably steep descent (due to terrain), so very well done.

The hike to the Cathedral Gorge - you are bussed on a comfortable 4WD bus to the parking area (about half an hour drive) but with some interesting information and stops.

Then it is about a 3km return walk into the Gorge. It has a few small ladders to negotiate and has some uneven rocky/sandy ground. There is a lot of the walk exposed to the sun, so can become hot and definitely requires lots of water and sunscreen. Our guides were awesome - Bill (an anthropologist) and Nigel (a proud local Gija man). The information and history provided was great, and they both really demonstrated care for safety and looked after some older customers. The picnic style lunch which you get to enjoy in the Gorge is simple but delicious, and you will struggle to find a better lunch vista.

The helicopter flight - stunning, just stunning. If you don't like flying, maybe not for you, but if you can relax, it is truly gorgeous and gives you such a great perspective of the sheer size and beauty of the area. Our pilot - Liam, was brilliant and provided great information and pointed out fantastic sites of interest.

Overall - Aviair were a professional, well run company and this tour gave us a 1 day extravaganza of views and experiences to enjoy this magical place in the limited time we had available. We loved it and really hope we get to do it again in the future!! You get to appreciate the size of the Ord River scheme, the Argyle diamond mine

Had the most magical experience from El Questro Station with Pilot Sarah. Flew over Lake Argyle, the Bungle Bungles and Argyle Diamond Mine to name a few highlights. Sarah’s wealth of knowledge and very interesting commentary made the flight even more enjoyable. Also experienced the smoothest landing ever on a tarmac littered with stones. Highly recommended.

We travelled to the Bungle Bungles by light plane with Aviar . I’ve reviewed that and it was great .

But the most memorable part of our tour was delivered on foot , with a walk to Cathedral gorge led by Mardi . She was just delightful , well informed , caring and so interesting to listen to . She also rescued my sunglasses. Thanks.

There are days in my life that I will never forget . Today was one of them . You must see the Bungle Bungles if you can - it’s just spectacular - and I hope you get Mardi as a guide - you’ll love her !

Exceptional Wow factor. Very well organised tour. Flight showed a variety of scenery and made sure everyone saw the sights from both sides of the planes.

Great pilot and tour guide. Experienced and knowledgeable.

Bungle Bungles - you just have to see it live - pictures don't do it justice.

Just do it.

Great day out. Thanks to everyone.

Amazing experience from booking to arriving back at our park. The young lady that took our booking was wonderful and helpful. Reese picked us up what a well mannered pleasant young man.
Ben and Siobhan were our piglets. Giving us a brilliant commentary to go with the fabulous views. Delivered back home at the end of the by Reese what a wonderful all round experience.

This was to be the highlight of our visit to Kununurra but nearly missed out due to bad weather on scheduled tour date. Staff were very good in finding an alternative booking when everything seemed to be fully booked during the time available. The Cathedral Gorge Walk is something extra special. Overall, a great day out.

A great way to get an overview of the Ord River scheme, Lake Argyle and Purnululu Nat Park ( Bungle Bungles). Our pilot, Sarah, was informative and relaxing. We were kept entertained with information and local stories of the area. An amazing country hard to access any other way.

The views were amazing, booking was straightforward, our pilot Sarah was an absolute star - super knowledgable, warm and professional. I felt a bit of motion sickness but that is likely due to the small size of the plane (8 seater). Would recommend!

This tour is mind-blowingly good, from start to finish. Your amazing pilot Sarah flew us over The Ord, Lake Argyle and on to Purnululu and explained so much on the way. We walked into Cathedral gorge with Tex and Matt, explaining so much about local flora and fauna and the geology of the area. The lunch provided was a totally delicious surprise and the walk out was a totally different view as the sun angle was different. Sarah then flew us back to Kununurra landing with sunset on one side of the plane and a full moon rising on the other. Unbelievable.
