We were held captive for 3 hours in an aluminum train car with No Air Conditioning and windows that do Not open with temperature outside at 102 degrees. A 4-hour trip, the AC died after the first hour, 3 more miserable hours trying to fan ourselves with the lid from snack trays, 102 degrees outside temperature, No AC, Windows Do Not open, there is an open air car where the sun beats down on you which was no help.
Only Our car, the Clarkdale Car, had a broken AC. They did not bother to relocate us into the other cars which had Air conditioning.
They offered No Reimbursement or compensation of any kind except an Ice Cream Sandwich. I Guess that's supposed to make it right. When the 3-hour ordeal was finally over and the train reached the station, the crew opened the door and Quickly disappeared, No Offer of any type of consideration.
Miserable trip, Ruined our July 4rth Holiday.. The trip could have been salvaged if they had allowed us into the other cars, they did not bother to do so, we simply were forced to sweat it out.

We really enjoyed our first train ride! Our tour guide and host were attentive and knowledgeable about the area and very willing to answer any questions we had. Breakfast was an unexpected surprise, and we loved the charcuterie and champagne! One thing that could’ve been better was the time it took to return. We waited about 25 minutes before the train was ready to head back and during that time, we had a noisy group of kids next to us. We also would’ve liked a lounge seat as opposed to the upright chairs we had which became a little uncomfortable for my husband’s long legs. But overall, we enjoyed our experience and would recommend it to anyone new to the area.

Michael was so informative & helpful. The breakfast counter was disorganized. Wish we had waited for lunch upon our return instead of waiting in line for breakfast. The snack box onboard had plenty of good things to fill us. We both thought that the round trip ride was a little too long but beautiful.

The ride itself is fantastic! We loved our tour person, who was from the Adirondacks and very interested in geology. He told us all kinds of great things about the history and geography through the canyon. It was a ton of fun and definitely something to do in the area, so don't be spooked by the price. I thought it was worth it.
That said, there were a lot of details that were unclear, and the tour operators weren't the best. Despite the fact that they don't provide you with a phone number, they call you the day before--so if you're like me and were somewhere with poor service, you won't hear from them. I reached out to them over the chat, and they responded relatively quickly, but they didn't read the question so they didn't really give me the answers I was looking for. The people who check you in also have a bit of an attitude. What you should know:
1. In some places it says 3 hours, and in others it says 4. Then it says two different times. Here's why: for the afternoon tour, they recommend you arrive an hour early, because apparently they don't serve lunch on the train. You can bring it with you, but you have to order it and pick it up first. This wasn't clear.
2. Some people have lunch included, others don't. Read your ticket clearly.
3. It's assigned seating, so you may not be seated with your friends who book separately. Luckily we arrived early enough that they were able to put us relatively close together, but if you do have people in the party booking separately, you should reach out to them and let them know you want to be seated together. They don't mention that on the listing.
4. There's no beer on the train--just wine and certain mixed drinks. You have to buy that at the depot
5. There are bathrooms on the train
6. Each train car has an outdoor space you can walk out to, where your guide is. The details you get out here are better
7. There's a lovely cheese plate at your seat when you arrive on the train. You get a glass of champagne and a bottle of water as well.
8. The shop and museum close before the afternoon train returns, which is bizarre. So make sure you check them out ahead of time, if you want to see them.

OMG! What a great experience. The train was wonderful. The crew even better. I would highly recommend. We did the morning tour. The breakfast was nice. The “ snacks “ on board were even better!! The tour guide ( I cannot remember his name”, was so informed and knowledgeable. It was GREAT!!

This is a nice ride for 4 hours.
Shout out to Royce! This guy is wonderful he is so enthusiastic.
The charcuterie / fruit is awesome and the champagne toast was great
On a side note if you get the discount because you're taking the tour the next day of the resort, stay away from Sapphire vacation club. At least do your homework before you would spend a dime with them. Not good!

This was my first trip to Prescott and we all decided to Head to Clarkdale and ride the Verde Canyon Railroad. It was all our first times riding a train. Our server was Shay she was literally the best i don’t think it can be topped. Her humor, attendance to everyone, and her kindness made it much more unforgettable. I plan on returning for the winter and have hopes to receive shay as our server once again. She gets a million out of ten in my books and can tell she loves her job. I really hope the company compensates her for the good work she puts in her job!

The view was nice. The music was very enjoyable. I wish they would've offer some board games and more snack options to purchase. you're also able to purchase alcohol beverages before the ride. You should be able to take your unfinished beverage on the ride.

The trip was awesome, our attendant was Ivy and she was great, very attentive and took good care of my family. I also had a chance to talk to Big C. he is the supervisor on the train, we had a great conversation as I used to work on the Grand Canyon Train as a passenger service attendant. I think the service and food is much better than the G.C.R. The views were fantastic and they gave us a ton of information. I highly recommend taking the Verde Valley Train.
