Enjoy a full-day journey from Rome, through the Chianti hills, to visit the cities of Siena and San Gimignano. Travel in a Small Group of no more than 6-7 people with a tour assistant in an air-conditioned minivan.
Siena is a medieval city, you will visit the heart of city and the central square, “Piazza del Campo” where the famous Palio takes place, a medieval-style horse race. Siena is famous for the wine and for its sweets: “Panpepato”, “Panforte”, “Ricciarelli”. Continuation to San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known as “The City of the Hundred Towers”
Arriving in San Gimignano you will explore its charming medieval streets, visit the old center of this wonderful city where the famous Chianti wine is produced. Tasting of wines and local products in a famous cellar. You will visit the estate where wine production and grape processing takes place. the tasting includes 10 different types of wine with lunch inlcuded.

1. Basilica Cateriniana Di S. Domenico
The Basilica of San Domenico is located on the slopes of the historic center of Siena, framed by the houses that "climb" under the Duomo, it is among the most important churches in the city especially for its link with the life of Saint Catherine of Siena. Built between 1226 and 1265 and enlarged during the fourteenth century, the Basilica of San Domenico has undergone numerous vicissitudes over the centuries, fires, military occupations, earthquakes, interventions and modifications, which have led to its unmistakable Gothic style appearance being defined Cistercian and is characterized by an original relationship between exterior and interior.
2. Duomo di Siena
Duomo di Siena (visit outside), is a medieval church in Siena, Italy, dedicated from its earliest days as a Roman Catholic Marian church, and now dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. Built between 1214 and 1263, it has a Latin cross structure, a not very protruding dome with the bell tower next to it. Both the exterior and the interior are decorated in blocks of white marble which are alternated with thinner greenish black stripes, these are the representative colors of Siena.
3. Centro Storico di Siena
It is the heart of the city of Siena, the fulcrum of the historic center declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Piazza del Campo has the shape of a shell divided into nine sections, in memory of the Nine Lords who governed the city at the end of the thirteenth century and amazes with its elegance and its unique shape in the world. Called this way because in the past it was a green space that hosted the market, Piazza del Campo today is the city's living room and the open-air arena where the famous Palio is run twice a year. Every year, on 2 July and 16 August, the piazza paved in pietra serena is covered with a layer of earth, composed of a mixture of tuff and sand, in which the horses of the districts challenge each other in a rapid race.
4. Historic Centre of San Gimignano
San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena. “The City of the Hundred Towers” and it still maintains its original features and timeless charm. Furthermore, the name ‘San Gimignano’ is linked to one of the most historical Tuscan wines:” La Vernaccia di San Gimignano”. Arriving in San Gimignano you will explore its charming medieval streets, visit the old center of this wonderful city where the famous Chianti wine is produced.
5. Tenuta Torciano
Tenuta Torciano is a secret jewel in the heart of Tuscany, near San Gimignano and centrally located between Siena and Florence. Its history sees 13 generations of winemakers who have been able to create high quality wines. Here, in these places, the knowledge of ancient cultivation methods merges with modern technologies. You will discover the warmth of Tuscan hospitality and the simplicity of good living. We were pleasantly surprised to see we had a private tour in a sleek BMW. Our driver Luigi was excellent and our tour guide Fabio looked after us. We had an early start so we stopped for breakfast. He made sure we tried local delicacies. But the highlight of the tour was the wine tasting with lunch. Perfect!

Even in the rain, we very much enjoyed our tour. Our small group ended up being just my husband and I. The two Tuscan villages were stunning and the wine tasting was a dream. This was our favorite tour of our time in "Rome". We're so glad we got out of the city for this relaxing beautiful tour of the Tuscan countryside.

We had the best time with Giuseppe and Claudio was such a great driver. Everything was so special about the whole day. Would do it again in a minute I highly recommend it. Those two were the best.!!! Coming back next April for them to take us somewhere else!! ❤️

Our driver Mr. Adam and tour guide Josh both did an amazing job! Josh did such a great job sharing the history of the cities.
The winery was fantastic! 4 course lunch with homemade lasagna! Spend a little more for this smaller tour (max 6 ppl and we lucked out with only 2 of us on ours) and the food is so much better than what it sounds like some of the cheaper tours offer.
