Explore the healing waters of the travertines and Hierapolis of Pamukkale on this day tour. With an early start be picked up from your hotel in Izmir sit back in the comfortable vehicle and enjoy the four hours drive to Pamukkale.
2. Hierapolis & Pamukkale
Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is one of the natural wonders of Turkey, a hillside of white terraces or travertines formed over thousands of years by the minerals bubbling up through hot springs feed from the depths of the earth. Start exploring the ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city is unique from all other ancient cities in being built not on earth or rock but on solid limestone layers formed by mineral rich waters that flowed for millennia over this raised level plateau. Hierapolis means “sacred city” and it was given this name because of the large number of temples located here.Today, the theatre, the Temple of Apollo and the Necropolis are among the most significant sites of interest in Hierapolis. During the tour you will see the Necropolis (Cemetery) of Hierapolis, one of the largest ancient burial sites in Anatolia; a Roman bath, the Gate of Domitian, the main street of the ancient city, the Byzantium Gate and the Ploutonion.
3. Pamukkale Thermal Pools
Enjoy the healing waters of Pamukkale and walk in the natural warm water terraces, which were formed by running warm water rich in calcium. The temperature of the water is about 35 Celsius year round. You will have the chance to see the gleaming white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, located next to the ruins of Hierapolis. The extraordinary effect is created when the water from the hot springs sheds the minerals it contains as it flows down the slopes, leaving deposits of limestone. The layers of white calcium carbonate, built up in steps on the plateau, gave the site its name of 'cotton castle'. Take the OPTIONAL chance to have a swim at the antique pool of Cleopatra's.
4. Pamukkale
Enjoy a local lunch after the tour and take the chance to have look at the Turkish traditional handcrafts.
5. Izmir
At the end of a memorable day you'll be dropped back to your hotel in Izmir around 19.30 - 20.00 pm.

Horrible guide and I have been on many tours He Was always 40 steps ahead of the group, his English was incomprehensible, had very little to say and was corrected several times from tourists on his facts. We got to Hierapolis and he had about 15 minutes of things to say and said OK you are on your own. It was little more than a $140 bus ride.

The tour was good. Merve was a good guide and suleiman vehicle was very good. We had a great trip. Merve explained us the details and the buffet lunch was also very yum

The tour itself, the truth is that I do not recommend it because it was almost 4 hours there and 4 hours back to be there for such a short time, we did not take it into account and it also said in the description that it was only 2.30 hours one way and 2.30 hours back.
The guide was friendly but he didn't really explain almost anything, and due to internal organization we changed transportation 3 times. I highly recommend spending the night there to have a more complete tour and with more time to see everything. The Cleopatra pool costs 200 liras and has changing tables and lockers on site. We would have liked to know that it was such a long trip, and that the guide would inform us more about everything we saw, the explanation was very poor. The food was buffet, it was very good, drinks apart. I wouldn't repeat.

I booked a day trip from Izmir to Pamukkale and Hierapolis. The tour pick me up on time at 6:30 am, we had a break along the 3 hour journey. We were on a small group which is perfect. Merve, our tour guide explained some histories behind the Hierapolis ruin and gave sufficient free time to wander and take photos. Everything is smooth and professional. I had a great time and highly recommended this tour.

The guide was really good. Place was great. and the buffet lunch had many options. Overall tour was good. my recommendation would be buy directly from the tour operator . don't buy from get your guide or viator. they charge more and entrance fee is not included.

The tour was well organised, viz. proper timing for pickup, meeting dietary requirements, etc. Mert is a good guide and kept us well informed about the location. A tip for first time visitors - do walk that extra mile to see the Byzantine gate or Philip church apart from visiting the theatre. YOLO.

Fantastic day. Our guide, Mert, was extremely courteous and ensured that we had an informative, relaxing, and memorable journey. Highly recommend visiting here via this tour for a hassle free experience, with enough time to see the wondrous sights. The theatre is a must see. Such history!!!
