This private guided walk with our unique guides (Stuart Usher or his son Richard, Professional Historians such as Dr Alison Duncan or David Forsyth, other prominent guides such as Prof. John Frank), will both entertain and enthral your group. Your party (up to 12 people) will be the only visitors on the walk. Stuart Usher's family have historic connections with Edinburgh (his great-great Uncle, Andrew Usher, donated the magnificent Usher Hall to the city, where the tour normally starts) and his deep knowledge of the city's cultural, historical and architectural aspects means he has a unique perspective.
You can book a morning tour (9.30am to 1.00pm), an afternoon tour (2.00pm to 5.30pm) or our full-day tour (9.30am to 4.30pm)
You can have flexibility on itinerary should you choose, e.g. if you have special interests in certain aspects of Edinburgh, and we can even arrange a starting point to suit you (e.g. your hotel) as long as it is in the city-centre.

David was a wonderful guide and made the experience enjoyable for my family. We only had 2 days in Edinburgh so we needed to learn as much as possible. He was very personable and catered the tour to our interests. We loved it! He even recommended a place for lunch and delivered us as an end to the tour. Thank you David!!

Dr Alison Duncan was our Edinburgh walking tour guide. She was really great! She not only gave us a lot of history during our tour, but she also made sure to make sure everyone was comfortable. She found places for us to sit and take breaks as we needed. She is an amazing person who is committed to understanding history and she shared that with us. Very good tour, thank you.

The highlight of our time in Edinburgh. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgable. I high recommend doing this tour at the start of your time in Edinburgh, it was fascinating - a great way to become acquainted with Old Town Edinburgh and learn about it's history.

Alistair was a wonderful guide. His depth is history and knowledge about us country is impressive.
We did the full day tour with him and enjoyed every minute ( even the torrential downpour).
He was able to modify direction as we went along and was delightful to be with for the day.
I highly recommend him for your time in Edinburgh.

Stuart was our guide and he gave us so much history about the area. We wished our tour lasted longer. He also included history on some of the pubs in the area.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the historical aspects of Scotland and its architectural components. Was primarily concentrated around Royal Mile so we did not see as many featured locations as we would have liked.

Craig was knowledgeable, not pedagogical. We would highly recommend a tour with him in Edinburgh. Terrific tour, even in the rain!
