I think I have noticed that the Greek theater was usually built in a situation where it had a beautiful view and it was constructed directly in the existing earthworks. Also, I usually don’t see a backstage structure.
I have also read one big difference between Greek and Roman theater was that Greek actors weren’t held in such high esteem as with the Romans.
This theater was a well designed and preserved example to tour.

Avoid this place. It has been transformed into a concert venue with all the ancient stone seating covered up by wooden bleachers. Huge lights and speakers and Broadway-style stage completely alter the character of this ancient wonder. Requiring unsuspecting tourists to pay 10 euros to see this borders on fraud. Very disappointing. (The nearby Roman theater is worth a visit).
