I took the Private Recoleta Walking guided Tour with Cemetery and Evita last Sunday. Juan Miguel was a very good tour guide but told too many "ghost" stories. I would have preferred more Fact based stories. My concierge had advised me against a cemetery tour saying that you heard the same stories in every cemetery in Argentina. He told the story she referenced.

I picked this tour in an attempt to avoid since it stated that it was a "PRIVATE" tour. I was also not allowed to book this tour as ONE person. I had to pay for TWO as is typical with most PRIVATE tours on Viator. I invited someone I met on another rour since I paid had been forced to pay for 2.

We arrived early due to a lack of traffic on Sunday. The tour guide had proactively provided the meeting point and his WhatsApp in advance. We texted him, that we were there 20 minutes early and hoped to start earlier due to the extreme heat. He met us but explained we had to wait for another couple. What??? It's a private tour. He said that in Argentina, PRIVATE means SMALL GROUP. What???? He called his office and they reiterated what he said.

The other couple arrived. She had a cane and slowed our tour down. The husband wandered off and we had to wait. The exact reason I purchased the most expensive Recoleta tour because I wanted it at my pace.

The other 3 stops were non events. It says admission/entry included but they are free.

It was not Juan Miguel fault that the listing in Viator misrepresents the tour. It should be called SMALL GROUP TOUR Of Recoleta Cementary with Evita. This would be more accurate description!

We had a wonderful tour of the cemetery with Elizabeth. She ensured we saw the most important memorials and gave us the background stories as well.

The guide was nice but had her own agenda and her English was mediocre.. she could recite the history but had trouble understanding and answering our questions.

What an amazing 2 hours! Fabian was absolutely fantastic. I learned so much and really got to understand the history behind the cemetery. I am definitely calling him next time in Argentina!

We could hardly understand the guide. She should not be giving tours in English. She is a sweet person but we needed someone who is understandable

We took this walking tour, which is mostly of the cemetery, because we wanted to learn the history. Our tour guide, Elizabeth, was amazing. She knew so much of Argentine history And so much history of the cemetery. Even when it started to rain, she gave us her umbrella and was still able to keep talking and discussing the amazing inhabitants of the cemetery. It was a great way to learn about the neighborhood and the history.
