We arrived to Bergen a couple of days before the day of our Viking cruise on 20th of May. Bergen is named as the capital of fjords. This is truth. We set on a half day trip to the region of Hardangerfjord. This fjord is often called as the Queen of fjords. Amazing landscapes around. Tour was combination of the city sightseeing tour, funicular trip and return tour to the mountain region that is close to bergen. This region is the country of waterfalls and lakes. We managed to visit to waterfalls. One is shaped as bride`s veil, thus get this nickname as Bride`s Veil. Nice day.

After our walking tour in Bergen we agreed with our guide to hire him for the tour to Hardanger Fjord. The Fjord and waterfalls along mountain road attracted us and we took on this decision. In addition I had sharp desire to pick up eatable mushrooms as many tourists did with this agency. I have never had chance to try myself in this hobby - picking up of eatable forest mushrooms. After the stop at two amazing waterfalls we arrived to the Gold Fish Lake high up in the mountains. You can see fish of different color coming to the lake shores. It was so interesting process. Mushrooms are hidden in the grass or bushes of juniper. Experienced people can find them also not quickly. You have to know places where they are growing up. It was very delicious lunch! On the way back to Bergen we have visited also fruit farm that was not included in the program. We decided to repeat this tour next year again.

I was doubting about buying the whole day trip to Hardanger. December. Cold time. Hardanger is very popular tourist destination area in Central Norway. Thousands of square kilometres of National parks around the second longest fjord in Norway. Finally I bought private tour Bergen - Hardanger - Bergen. 9 hours. Tourist company gave me considerable discount, because 1 day before I ordered walking tour in Old Bergen from the same tourist agency. It was right decision. As all visitors to Norway I wanted to see fjords, mountains and waterfalls. During this trip we have stopped at 3 of very impressive waterfalls. In winter they are not so powerful as in summer but still very impressive. My guide knows so many real stories and legends about places that we have visited that I really was felling spirit of viking times the whole trip. Winter landscapes in Norway are very beautiful

We decided to order the wholeday trip from vinol tours in addition to our Bergen walking tour. I am happy that we decided to do it. All tourists are speaking about Norwegian fjords. This is truth that they are very beautiful. We got more. Two waterfalls, lake with gold fish, and the Queen of fjords - Hardanger fjord. Fosselva river is the sourse for Steindalsfossen, that is the most popular waterfall in the area of Hardanger Fjord. We were walking behind falling water of the waterfall and nothing bad happened with us! Our guide told us that 300 years ago earthquake in the mountains changed the route of Fosselva river that started to fall down from steep kleef. Thus, it was created naturaly safe way for people to walk behind the waterfall and to stay dry-feet.
We stayed for the lunch in small restaurant on the the shore of the Hardanger Fjord. On the way back to Bergen the guide teached us how to find in Norwegian forests eatable mushrooms and how to cook them. This is absolutly new experience for me! I think that we will come back to Norway again!
