Visit the infamous hidden and supposedly haunted vaults beneath the South Bridge in Edinburgh Old Town. Hear tales of how the poor and unfortunate lived in these former slums. Explore these dimly lit vaults by candlelight, once the haunt of criminals, body snatchers and witches alike, said by some to now be occupied by a few of the spirits of these inhabitants long since dead.
Each vault has stories of crime, disease, death and lots more... with which your guide shall enlighten you in all the gory details! You will see a genuine witchcraft temple, recently used by a Wiccan coven and you will enter their former temple. Join us to learn why it is no longer safe for them to practice their craft in that vault.

Ally did a fantastic job with informative and exciting stories. The tour started with a few stops "above ground" which gave a great background for the tour underground.

This is a good tour if you are into horror experiences. However there wasn’t a warning about one of the experiences at the end that may conflict with some people’s personal/religious beliefs and I would not have done this tour if I was aware of it. I appreciated the service of the guide and found it professional and courteous. If you have a fear of encountering ghosts and dark spirits, this tour may not be for you.

I loved this tour. My guide (Alex?) was hugely knowledgeable about Edinburgh history and very engaging. The vaults were entered each had a different personality and the guide was terrific at raising the tension with spooky stories! It was really great to have such a long section to down - it really added to the atmosphere. Thanks Auld Reekie!
