Private Tour: Ghent and Bruges From Brussels Full Day

Viator rebooked us for this tour company after our initial tour company canceled at the last minute. We were thankful that this company filled in, but unfortunately, it was not a good tour.

The first issue occurred when we were messaged by our tour guide in the morning that he was coming to pick us up in his "Comfort car." We spent hundreds more on a "luxury car," and the tour operator was unwilling to offer a refund for the price difference. They offered us 150 Euro back or a free lunch. The price difference is more than double what they offered. They made the excuse of commission costs, last minute booking, yadda yadda. They were unwilling to make it right.

After that debacle, we were uncertain whether we even wanted to take the tour because it was already off on the wrong foot. But, since we were left high and dry, we decided to take a chance.

Next, our tour operator shows up. He tried his best, but he didn't know the country well. He only lived there for five years and did tours as a side hustle on the weekends. NOT GOOD. I would expect an expert tour guide who knows the country well and can speak clear English for the amount we paid.

After that, the tour itself was sub-par. We waited a long time for the guide to find parking, had to pay for items ourselves, were rushed along, and ultimately didn't enjoy the country as we would have liked.

Be aware of this company and what you pay for. They're out to get the most money out of you and not provide the service you paid for.

Excellent choice to visit both cities. Our driver and the guide were fantastic. We had time for a river cruise in Bruges and it was amazing. Definitely great way to see both cities

This was a fabulous day trip. Camillo was a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide. Well worth the $. Would highly recommend!!!

Walter was one of the most knowledgeable tour guide we have ever had. His knowledge of the history of wars was exceptional.

Henry was an excellent guide- knowledgeable about Belgium history as well as the local history of Ghent. He modified the tour to fit our need as we had spent time visiting Bruges 2 days prior. We were able to see a few sights in Brussels on the route to Ghent. Highly recommend this tour/guide.

It is essentially a walking tour with car pick up and drop off. Our guide Henri was very knowledgeable of both Bruges and Ghent. The places are very pretty and beautiful.

We would give our tour an A+... Driver was perfect and our guide,Henri, simply amazing - he was so knowledgeable and fun to spend time with.. the day was well planned out and fantastic!
Bruge was more touristy than we imagined but still very worthwhile- Ghent is a jewel!
Henri walked us through the best spots and it was a wonderful day! Thank you!

So much history! Our host Mary was a font of knowledge. You see a lot with her at the helm. Great recommendations as well. Only downside is a long drive.

We loved seeing all the beautiful churches and art museums It was a day we will never forget, seeing the Madonna and Child by Michael Angelo at The Church of Our Lady of Laeken and the famous mystic lamb altar piece at the Bavo Cathedral. Our guide Henry was incredible and made sure we saw as much we could.
