Build in an Italian baroque style, it was the former residence of the Spanish Monarchy from 1766 to 1931. Louis was an excellent guide, very thorough and knowledgeable.
Would do the tour again. Viator office hard to find and took a while and we were glad we allowed extra time

It was a very interesting tour. Our guide did a good job explaining the history and details of all the rooms in the palace. This was an error on my part, I signed up for the bilingual tour wishing I would have only done English only.

This was a good guided tour of a stunning palace. The guide provided us headphones so we could hear her while walking through the crowded palace. This was beneficial, because we could walk away from our group and look at rooms at our leisure while still listening to the guide. This is one of the best sites in Madrid.

This was a really enjoyable guided tour! We had a group of about 9 people, but we were able to hear the tour guide easily because of the headphones she provided us. The palace was quite crowded, but we were still able to see all of the available rooms. The palace is absolutely stunning--and each room is more breathtaking than the next. This is definitely a must-do while visiting Madrid. (Note- the meeting spot was difficult to find; arrive early.)
