You get to see the things they say you will see, so that's of course absolutely awesome.

But to start off, the trip is not 100% as it is advertised. You have to meet at 7:00h at the Super Aki in Tulum (not 7:30h), so be prepared to leave your homes around 6:30h.
They really emphasize you have to be ON TIME (early) for the pick up time at the Super Aki, so we felt really pressured to be even earlier (we left at 6:20h, even though it was only a 5 min drive). In the end we were picked up around exactly 7:00h.
When being picked up, the "guide" said nothing, just asked for our names and ushered us into the van. We had to drive around picking up people in Puerto Aventuras and Playa del Carmen at their hotels first for 1.5 hours, before finally heading off to Ria Lagartos/Las Coloradas. Only then did the supposed 3h drive start.. We ware pretty annoyed at that point.
The drive back was exactly the same, but reversed. In the end, I think the trip was more like 15h, so be ware of this if you need to plan around this.

Las Coloradas is beautiful, but the worst tourist spot I've ever been to. Literally the whole thing is just designed for Instagram (IG) pictures. I am not exaggerating one bit. The whole tour is designed for JUST IG pictures.. It became quite annoying at some point when the guides just kept asking us if we wanted to have our pictures taken everywhere.. We were there to learn about the site, the coloured lakes, algae, etc. Oh and yeah, you have to pay an extra ~ 30 USD admission for just this (lame IG pics..).

Ria Lagartos was the one amazing part about this trip. Yes, you will see flamingos, pelicans, crocs, and an assortment of other birds in their natural habitat :)

I did not care for the "crocodile rescue" place we went to afterwards.. I'm sure they actually do save, breed and let the crocs out into the wild again, but the whole thing was mainly focused on taking pictures with the crocs. They bind their mouths with rope, and slam their mouths with wooden sticks so us tourists get to take nice pictures. I'm not here for it.
