1. Knossos Archaeological Site
Knossos Palace is the capital of Minoan civilization, just 5km away on the south of Heraklion town. It is the largest of the preserved Minoan palatial centers on the island. Walk through it with your guide and find out how people lived 4.000 years ago, people that are believed to be the first Europeans, lived as an organized community in Crete and the center of their civilization the Palace itself. The Throne Room, the frescoes, the Minoan Columns, the water management will stimulate your imagination on how the community of the Minoans was living on the island back then.
2. Morosini Fountain (Lion's Fountain)
Heraklion is the capital of Crete as well as the largest city on the island. It is a town living between modern life and a deep link with its past. The town is fortified by the old Venetian walls. From the town's center, a walk through Daidalou street will bring you to Lion Square and the famous Morosini Fountain remain of the Venetian era. The way to the left will take you to the permanent outdoor market of the town and finally to the Valide Mosque, a remain of the turkish occupancy. The way to the right will bring you to the Venetian Loggia and finally to the sea and the Koules Fortres
3. Heraklion Archaeological Museum
Optional you may visit the Archaeological Museum in the center of Heraklion city. It brings together, findings from all over Crete, covering over 5500 years of the island's history. It is one of the most remarkable museums in Greece containing the most notable and complete collection of artifacts and initials of the Minoan civilization around the world.

Good price/value ratio. Time for trip was good, pick up at hotel was punctual. Tour of Knossos was a little too slow due to multiple languages offered. But not having to worry about transportation was valuable.

The very long queues of people at Knossos from the cruise ships in the high temperatures were awful! The traffic was terrible and most featured things in Heraklion were unavailable or closed.

The audio quality was bad. The signal was lost after a few meters. The guide was very friendly but did not understand much. The bus air conditioning is very low! It's 40 degrees hot! I didn't enjoy it like other tours I've done on Tripadvisor.

I recommend this trip, it's a cost effective way to get to Knossos and Heraklion. The guide Eleni was good at explaining everything and telling the story of the Minoan history. There were about 50 people on the modern coach and we were picked up and dropped off from our resort. Things ran to time pretty much with about 1.5 hours at Knossos and then 2.5 hours in Heraklion, other time was travelling between destinations. We found this ample to see the archaeological museum in Heraklion as well as lunch in a cafe and a wander round the old city of Heraklion. My teenagers enjoyed the trip too!

This was a fantastic tour of the Knossos Palace. The guide (Roula), who is Greek, switched effortlessly between German and English. She was a human dynamo! For around 2 hours she packed in fact after fact about the site, the history, the culture, the mythology of Crete and how it all related to the archaeological site. She sped round like Usain Bolt but was attentive and mindful of our safety. The site itself is very interesting and there is lots to see that feeds the imagination. We started around 9:50 with a packed coach, and spent till 12 at the palace. Then a trip into Heraklion and Roula swung into action again, explaining the history about Heraklion, its name, various capital cities throughout history, its growth and specific buildings of interest for the next 20 mins as the coach drew near to the city centre. Finally there was a short (25 mins) on foot tour round a few of the busy streets of the city, round the 4 lions statue and a beautiful church! It was an absolute joy and a great way of seeing the palace at Knossos and the main city centre. I’ve been on many tours but this was on another level! Thank you Roula!!

The tour around Heraklion could have been better. I will highly recommend just habing one language tours

The excursion to Knossos and Heraklion was a great experience. Our tour guide Roula was very professional and knew everything about the history of Knossos and Greek mythology.
The entire trip was very well organized from pick up to drop off by our driver Iannis. I can recommend this day trip to anyone who is in Kreta.

The guide was excellent but it did get tedious having it done once in English and again in German. I would have liked having a little more free time at Knossos but it was rushed due to the double info.
