Exploring the Area of Steel in the war time with its 200km tunnel network which considered as the unbreakable underground village and learn how the local people live is in the harsh condition of the war time and how powerful they were.

In particular, the Gucci tunnel penetration experience that will be remembered for the rest of my life was the best experience.
I almost died after getting stuck in a narrow hole while looking for glasses that my son spilled during the Gucci tunnel experience.

Trip very good although trip by river not very interesting return by bus was better but slow.
The tunnels are well worth seeing but need to do in conjunction with the War Museum as it makes it easier to undertstand the conditions they lived in and the horrific existence the Vietnamese people had to survive.

We went by fast river boat and returned by bus. River trip was good and interesting to see life on the river but the return bus trip was more enlightening into how life is in the suburbs of Ho Chi Minh. The Tunnels were very interesting and gave a good explanation of what the Vietcong did during many occupations by a number of foreign countries. They were certainly innovative people as was evident throughout Vietnam. The Tunnels were obviously commercial in intent but worth the visit. Tour guides vary in competence but overall are good value.

We went by speed boat which saved a lot in travel time but us more expensive. The guide (local) was very knowledgeable and friendly but her English could have been a bit better as there were bits and pieces I couldn’t understand and it was awkward asking her to repeat things. It’s a good day out and would definitely do the morning tour because of the heat. Big crowds impact on the pace moving to each display but that’s unavoidable. It’s an eye opening aspect of the Vietnam war and people’s ingenuity during the war. Lunch was provided and was
good value for the money.

This was a excellent trip up to the tunnels it was very informative a great guide with good knowledge and the scenery was a eye opener. We took the waterway trip instead of the bus trip as it was a hot day so on the boat was great, better than been in a bus full of people on a hot day.
