Good trip for a layover. Our guide Wan was lovely and gave us enough information. Better research about the places you want to visit beforehand and give them the list so they can plan the trip for you.

With a 9 hour stopover in Bangkok, and never having visited before, I was looking for a short trip where I could see highlights of the city without being stressed that I might miss my connecting flight! This short visit was perfect, with great communication before and during about what it would involve, and plenty of interesting things to do and see.
The trip itself could be tailored to individual preferences. I went to the Golden Buddha temple, palace, had a Thai massage, nice lunch and then did some shopping at markets. My guide, Om, was very knowledgeable and friendly, spoke excellent English and had lots of great insights into Thai life and culture. For people who've been to Bangkok before, I suggest taking advantage of the option to get further afield - floating markets, elephant sanctuary and other attractions seem to be well within striking distance as well.

It took more than 2 hours to get VISA on arrival. One must carry a photograph to save 200Baht and time to take one on the spot. Getting VISA in advance is best. One must return to airport at least 2 hrs before the time of flight. It was informed that it is risky considering traffic in the city of Bangkok. Hence we took a metro, to reach a shopping centre (~7 stations from airport) went to a book cafe, which served delicious local food. And returned to airport in time.

It was good to look around to get a feel for the city, although there seems a lot more to see. Was a public holiday so some areas were closed off for celebrations which was unfortunate
