I spent a lovely afternoon with Ichiro-san in December. He perfectly curated the sake locations to fit my interests, giving me the opportunity to try many high-end sakes in a very short time. He even included a side trip so I could buy sake-pickles at a specialty market! I will remember this trip fondly for years to come.

My wife and I spent the day touring Kobe with our tour guide Yuka and it was everything we had hoped for and more. We travelled to 3 different Sake breweries and we were able to learn about the process of how sake is made and also tasted some amazing Sake's that are not available where we live in the US. Although the sake was great, the true highlight of our day were the 2 separate side tours that Yuka set up for us at one of the breweries.
We felt so lucky to have Yuka as our tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about everything sake, spoke very good English, and most importantly was such a pleasure to be around throughout the day! We cannot thank Yuka enough for curating such an amazing experience for us.

It was truly an honor to spend time with our guide. Yama educated us on the history of sake, and gave us an insight in the Japanese culture. Thank you again for the honor of spending the day with you.

Great brewery visits with delightful tastings.
Kobe beef lunch was amazing, could not ask for anything better.
Our guide Yamasan was friendly and very helpful. Found us the best Kobe beef restaurant for lunch we ever had.
Yama was very considerate of costs and always asked if we were ok spending extra, of course we said yes!
We were wanting to see and experience the that Kobe could offer and Yama stepped up. We recommend Yama highly. Loved our Kobe visit because of Yamasan.

We had a wonderful time with Yama-san. He was fun, flexible, and so nice. We loved the lunch place he took us too. It was delicious! Unfortunately I can remember the name of it but I have pictures😊

We had a great afternoon with Tanaka-san, which included visiting 3 out of the 8 breweries on the Viator list and one other we stumbled across. Tanaka-san was very friendly and his English is good. He had been to some of the breweries before but not all. Tip - do your research and identify the breweries you want to visit (some may require a cab ride) - 8 is not possible due to time and distance. Also agree up front with the guide if you want a sake only tour or any time touring Kobe. And try the sake ice cream!

Spent the day with Mimmy, exploring the sake breweries. Started with Hakatsuru Sake Brewery Museum, a sake-themed lunch at Sakuraen, Kiku-Masamune Sake Brewery Museum, and finished at the Hakatsuru Fine Art Museum. Learning about the traditional way of sake-making was truly fascinating. Lunch at Sakuraen was definitely the highlight for us, experiencing the taste of sake in soups, sauces, and even dessert! This was very different than brewery tours in the US where we see actual product being made in real time, but understanding the original methods and equipment versus looking at various metal tanks was uniquely educational. The art museum was icing on the cake being able to see artifacts collected and curated from one of the Hakatsuru Brewery masters, along with a nearby building with a collection of carpets from the Middle East from another Hakatsuru master. A tour of the history of sake making and art rolled into one. Mimmy was so warm, friendly, and accommodating and such a pleasure to spend the day with. Highly recommend.
