We booked this day trip to visit another place during our stay in olu deniz, we were not disappointed,
The ferry crossing was 1hour 30 mins, but it went quickly.
There is a tourist tax to pay at passport control and they only accept cash just to be aware. Getting through customs took about 25 mins, not to bad.
Head out of the port, turn right and over the crossing into the courtyard and thats where the magic begins, lots of cafe, restaurant, garden cafe, shops, everything you want is all there inside the courtyard, we spwnt all day just wandering around.
Would definately do it again.

This was an absolutely brilliant trip. When you get to Rhodes, there’s an open top city bus tour for €15. Well worth the money. Hop on/off too so you can choose to visit where you want to. Get off at bus stop 2 however, and go to Dama, proper traditional Greek restaurant. Excellent food, great service and OMG, views across the sea-awesome. Go for it, you only live once x

I had a wonderful day but u have to be aware the tour company does nothing as there is just a ferry ticket.

Where it does help is getting ur passport registration done 24 hours before without being there. Just turn up for the ferry in the morning.

They kept in contact re tickets etc.

The ferry is cheap and cheerful, needs a good clean to be honest. Take your own snacks as the onboard supplies are apparently very expensive. It is advertised to take 90 minutes to get to Rhodes but it took us two hours which is significant when you know you only have five hours in Rhodes. We went for a birthday celebration for a friend’s special birthday which happened to be a Sunday. Unfortunately as soon as we came out of passport control she tripped on a broken manhole cover and suffered several nasty injuries including a very bloody and damaged nose. The people at the port were wonderful and very distressed to see her in this way. They did call an ambulance but our friend who is a nurse knew her nose was not broken and asked for the ambulance to be cancelled. We went in search of a pharmacy to buy some first aid supplies in an attempt to save the rest of the day. We found several closed pharmacies (Sunday) and no apparent first aid point at all in spite of the large amount of tourists in the location. At this point I would like to give a shout out to the lovely man who runs the shop called Memories which sells soap and health giving supplies. He did not have what we needed but he did go to his home upstairs and brought his own supplies including antiseptic, plasters and painkillers. We are very grateful to him and we are sorry we didn’t get his name. We will be certain to visit him in his shop if we return and if you find yourself there please let him know I have mentioned him. Anyway, we had an amazing lunch at Sarris Tavern including some huge beers in boot shaped glasses which went a long way to cheering us all up. It was soon time to return to the chaos in the port where we saw a fist aid point! Needless to say it was also closed. None of this is the ferry operators fault and we will go again, it just needs to be known that you will spend longer on the ferry than you will in Rhodes and if you go on a Sunday take a first aid kit!

We purchased this trip for convenience assuming everything will be handled for us. However, we ended up doing everything ourselves once we got tickets which had a mistake (one of the return tickets). We did not even meet the guide. Communication was a challenge and very slow.

Luckily, Turkish port authorities were very kind explaining everything and guiding us. Trip turned out well thanks to them.

It was a lovely day out! Well worth the money and time. Rhodes is a great place with lots of markets to visit and lush food! The only thing that you may need to be aware of, it said on the advertisement hotel pick up and drop offs are included however they are not and so we had to rush last minute to find transport to the port, although taxi’s are very cheap so I’d recommend you book one through your hotel beforehand!
