An off-the-beaten-track cultural tour that uses food and wine as a means of getting to know the local traditions, the authentic people, the history, and the modern lifestyle of Crete.
You will be guided around Chania city and its old port and learn about the Cretan food culture by tasting Alatsoelies (salted olives) with various sheep cheeses, the famous Cretan yogurt with or without thyme honey, traditional sweets and pastries with Malotira beverage (the local mountain herb), and the famous Greek Souvlaki.
In the end, you also have the option to book a wine-tasting tour, sampling some of the best wine labels in Greece and learning a lot about wine. This extra tour cannot be booked on-site nor can it be booked as a standalone service but needs to be booked in advance as an extra to your basic food tour.
