Vinicunca, known as the Rainbow Mountain, is a fascinating destination located in the Vilcanota Mountain Range, within the majestic Peruvian Andes. The different hues that adorn its slopes have diverse origins: the greens reveal the presence of minerals such as iron, magnesium and copper oxide; the yellows highlight the sulfur in the composition; the whites emerge thanks to quartz sand and limestone rock; while the red tones are generated from clays and argillites, which include mica and quartz rocks.
